Had Moderna. Arm ached for a couple of days as expected but then had a rash around the injection site for a few days and it itched a bit, but all fine other than that.

Wife had Moderna same day and just had the arm ache.

Most people I know who have had AZ say they felt like they'd been hit by a train for a couple of days at least. I tell them now they know how I feel most of the time!

Had AstraZeneca on Sunday morning. Felt fine all day (well, felt slightly warm for a few minutes on the way home from having it) but about an hour before I tried to get to sleep that night I started feeling really knackered with a headache, so had a couple of tablets. Spent approx. 4 1/2 hours awake in the night really feeling hot and shivering somewhat. Arm aching as well. Woke up about 6am and had a couple more headache tablets, got some light sleep and woke up feeling ok, although I didn't feel absolutely 100% yesterday. Feel fine today.

Got my second in July sometime, hopefully I don't have side effects again (but probably will!)

I honestly dont think i will have it. I have had 4 weeks furlough since last march. No masks until you could find them in june? Still had to go to work.. Got sent the letter but of course you cant book unless you want to travel 50 miles away. By the time october comes youll need another jab anyway.

When you get the text message from the local docs, you should be able to get a local slot to within a 15 minute timescale.

Covid does loads of nasty stuff we don't understand yet. It put my in-laws in hospital and I know people still f**ked-up after months. Plus the vaccine reduces the chances of you spreading it.

Yeah I agree. Slightly different but I had covid around 2 months ago and even though I wasn't to ill with it I was dizzy for around 4 weeks after, fatigue for around 5 weeks, no smell/taste for around 7 and my tinnitus is now louder than ever. I don't know if that counts as long covid but a lot of people do suffer badly with long covid which is something most people don't think about once they decide they're no longer at risk of ending up in hospital.

Well its great to hear how many of you seem to be getting the short but quite uncomfortable side effects with no real harm, for 24-48 hrs same as i had with my first jab a few weeks ago BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND GETTING JABBED my daughter is a coroner/pathologist and mainly does the silent witness stuff for the police etc in Glasgow but seen lots of covid death too

I... exactly like Matt have had Covid with all the similar symptoms , only i had it early on during the first lockdown APRIL 2020 knocked off my feet with serious pneumonia - like illness sweats for a couple of days weak breathless cough for a week or two till i sprained my ribs in my back trying to cough with no breath at all .... the second week i lost taste and smell for a while and was so weak for about 7-10 weeks dizzy and unable walk far just a few yards , without getting out of breath and fatigued to the point of crashing out on the sofa a few times a day..... wicked illness .....

4 a.m. on the thursday of the first week i was so in pain in my chest and back , unable to take reasonable breaths , i was literally minutes from phoning an ambulance but .... the wife and I beleive if i had , i would have been ventilated and possibly would not be here today as other organs sometimes shut down if you get coma induced........ and my daughter agrees....... i eventually recovered at home and even worked 16-18 weeks last summer july-november

more necessity than want, as my partner broke his leg in august and was laid up all that time at his home..lucky to have his wife working from home while also playing nursemaid

i had my first AZ about 8 weeks ago and the next day awoke feeling i was going to be sick and very lethargic with a bit of a temperature and felt like my head was in a vice and stayed in bed tired till mid afternoon but ok the third day and since ...... but like to hear of others getting a bit of tinnitus (i have worked in noisy areas a lot all my life) and fatigue still , i always had a bit of whistling but since covid it got terrible as does my tiredness especially in the evening , of course "it could be my age" as i find it hard move some days , nah !

but other days i have the truck jacked up getting the ceased brake drums off (not helped by a year of standing even with the handbrake off) with a heavy duty puller and lump hammer and last week set up the arcade ready to open from today, tho i dont need be there except to repair and sort problems with machines......i hacked the conifer hedge down a foot or two yesterday so now just await second jab which delayed for me as they missed me in group 5 during february i had no letter till my wife in group 6 got hers and by then the local GP had stopped doing un-symptomatic old folk and we got in together quite local at our Winsford Morrisons supermarket pop up clinic . easy straight in no discomfort on the day and all done in about 4 minutes

SO ... even tho i am weakened i seem to be getting back to full strength slowly ... BUT would not wish to get it again or watch anyone else get it either........ we know people who have died locally and think whay a lonely way to go ......... snatched from home by medics never to see loved ones again unless you get over the effects ok.... may be better to be cautious ??

Az here. No side effects but a dead arm for a day fortunately.

Kevkev personally i think you should get it, if not for you then others. Id hate to potentially give it to someone and make them very ill, or worse....strykr2021-05-17 14:30:56

I've been fortunate to have had both vaccines already in March (I'm under 40 and high risk). I had Astra Zeneca and like many of you that had this vaccine I was fine up until the evening and then I felt really unwell, it was like severe flu symptoms with headache, chills etc. I really struggled to sleep and was in bed for a few days but as quick as the symptoms come they just went. I had my second vaccine 4 weeks later and to be honest I was dreading it however I only had a sore arm and some light sniffles and that's it. Fingers crossed everyone else feels the same as me on their second vaccine

Second Astro Blaster yesterday, started feeling rough with a headache after about 4 hours, but nowhere near as bad as round 1, so I managed to sleep alright, and I am starting to feel better now.

First Astra 3 weeks ago (under 40 yrs, but invited early due to the medication my wife is currently taking).
Only side effect was a aching arm the following day :)

I'm mid 30s. First AZ jab had me in a fever in the night and the next day was bad but bearable. The following day I was fine.
Second AZ jab had no side effects for me (other than possibly a little tired).
Totally worth getting.

No way at all I would have unknown vaccine, Don't believe they tested it properly and doing live trials on everyone, that's not from me listening to anyone else, that's what I believe and don't trust em... then

In the last month I know 2 people that have just died, both had Cancer, mates girlfriends mum died last night, they thought it was the cancer but after further time in hospital, they said he has bloodclots and has died from that

3 weeks back a good Friend from school, his dad who had cancer again, he's died so u think it's the cancer but mate just told me now. that he's also told it was bloodclots that finished him off and son is fuming as he won't have vaccine either

Just before that, guy over road from me who also has cancer gets took in hospital, came out, then back in and then died not long after, I would put money on he had vaccine like the other 2 and he's died from bloodclots too

Unless you know people like this where do you here about all these on TV? why nothing being said and I bet they put em down as Cancer too or Covid

These are people I know and are trusted, not something I heard through 10 people on internet. just said to folks, wonder how long other guy up road has left while he's recovering from cancer and i know he's had vaccine too

Could do ya own dead pool list

Similar story to the above...

Had the first AZ and was rough for around 36 hours, but perfectly manageable with paracetamol.

Second AZ no side effects at all.

Very glad to be vaccinated, and the sooner we all are the better. Looking forward to getting back to normal :)

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, I've had vaccines to travel to some exotic places, but only long tried and tested and fully approved ones. These COVID ones are neither of those things, nor are they actually vaccines.

If people want them and feel better for it, great. It just happens that I don't.

I get that not everyone wants it, I get the fears with the short timescales and I'm not comfortable with anyone being pilloried for choosing not to take it.

But I've not heard that they're 'not vaccines'.

This is not really the place to go deep into it but the info is out there if you can find it as Social Media and Youtube remove it.

Also, I get that a lot of people don't want to hear it, and that's fine too.

Vaccines have a specific definition and they do not meet it. These are M R N A treatments which are a new thing.

If you're interested PM me and I will give you some links to videos worth watching.

Pfft. I think we're damned lucky the boffins managed to come up with treatments, whether you call them vaccines, or not.
