Got a bit fed up with my ghetto test rig so decided to build myself a decent setup. Finally settled on one of these:

I'm not really intending using it to play, just to test PCB's etc. I've added a negatron and an internal speaker to mine. Pretty pleased with the results:

Of course it worked fine with my GNET motherboard all the time the case was unfinished. As soon as I put the backplate on my GNET decided to keep resetting. Grrrr. I've seen this before and think it might be related to the -5v. It certainly stopped doing it in my Astro City after PMAN upgraded the power supply got me.

I didn't think that the G-Net board used the -5v input, as I've got mine it a cab that has no -5v power supply and it appears to work without fault.

Hmmm, mine has always played up - keeps resetting. I'd always thought it was the -5v. Guess not?

G-Net pcb's are fussy buggers - I have to run mine at 5.02V or it keeps rebooting when starting up, once it's running its rock solid. Not sure if it's modbios-2011 that's causing it. It's worse if I use cheap CF cards so now I stick to 128mb Sandisk ones.penrhos2016-04-24 18:05:58

I guess that is the downside of my build, I ended up using one of these Pico ATX PSU's:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-24pin-12V-Pico-ATX-PSU-Auto-Computer-PC-MINI-ITX-Power-Supply-160W-Module-/201090012185?hash=item2ed1e61419:g:4hcAAOxyNThTcwmX

Whilst they are nice and small, there is no way to adjust the voltages :-(

My G-Net was a fussy bugger way before I installed the modbios in there. It seems it is still just as fussy!

Have you found a decent (cheap!) source for Sandisk CF cards? Seems there are a lot of fake cards knocking around.
