Ok lads, couple of weeks ago the wife [aka Boss] [aka she who MUST be
obeyed] casually throws into conversation, "maybe you could 'treat yourself'
and look at investing in a couple of new tops for the summer"
[unmarried mans translation = I'm not gonna wash those threadbare,
moth-holed, faded, sweat-stained rags again (she swears if you hold one
of them up and squint your eyes you can make out the Turin Shroud!)]
My retort; "Darling, thats a great idea what man doesnt like a bit of retail therapy on the interweb"
So,
I cranked up the trusty laptop, poured myself a cold one whilst the
valves warmed up, and sat down in my underpants for a spot of
shopping...
So,
the wife sees the above, and says "hmmmm, nice start but maybe also
look at getting something thats not about video games out of the 80's,
and perhaps long sleeve for those cooler nights"
My Retort: "Good idea darling, I'll get on the case"
So
after debating for 30 minutes about my style [unmarried mans
translation = I made a valid point for 1 minute at the start then
listened intensely for 29 minutes whilst she pulled it apart, nodding
occasionally]
She closed by saying, "no video game and a bit more colourful"
My retort: "darling what was I thinking, I'll get back to the drawing board 1st light tomorrow"
One in yellow purchased...
Well, on delivery the wife started sobbing at this point, so I poured myself a cold one, again >hic< and I said to her.
"there
you go darling, I had some money left over from that shopping
experience so here you go, go and treat yourself to a new perfume."
THAT my friends is a masterclass is relationship managment
I got an new top for every weekday and she got a perfume, all winners...
