I'd like to put a professional-looking website together that I can update easily (preferably from any computer with internet access).

It's not a commercial/business website, just something arcade related for a bit of fun.

I'm not a complete technophobe (I've put together a few websites and forums in the past) but it's a while since I've done anything.

Some members here have great-looking websites and I wondered what you guys use to build them?

Cheers

I used RapidWeaver for Mac to produce mine. Obviously only any good if you're on Mac!

Normally however I'd probably dig out Visual Studio and code something in ASP.NET

I'd say use some kind of content management system to make it easier to administer. You don't have to be any kind of web expert then

Something like Wordpress is a good choice I think, but I would also suggest that you host it somewhere aswell.

I can give you a few tips about a cheap host, that provides you with a ton of tools to set you up straight away. You just need to add the content then. PM me if you want

Wordpress is the best way to get a nice looking website without too much effort. It can be daunting to begin with but once set up you can easily change themes and layouts as time goes on.

Also it's easy to add plug ins later on for things like e-commerce, and if you pay a few quid you can get some superb layouts.
