I agree the message is important. Where I live dipshits are still setting up disposable BBQs in 'green spaces' that are bone dry.

I felt like the delivery was akin to an immanent nuclear attack, but you need to get peoples attention I guess.

For me- it went off in the supermarket.
Even the staff thought it was the store.
You hear a sound you have never heard before coming from every single isle.
Took a while to realise my phone in my pocket was making the sound.

If it saves lives, I have no issue.
I presume it was a bit of a test too.

I don’t think it proves that any other major thing in politics is less of a concern.

I think frankly the emergency alert system needs a different sound, and that's about it.

Perhaps add a mode that shows a text alert but doesn't play the sound for alerts like this one

I was on the train home with terrible reception, you could tell when each carrier got enough signal, I was with the O2's, then the Vodafone's got it, followed by the EE's, etc.

I live surrounded by farm fields that are all tinder dry now, the farmers have cut everything back as hard as possible but it just takes one idiot to flick a cigarette butt out of a car window into a hedgerow. To be fair the people who'll heed the message anyway were never the problem.

t any other major thing in politics is less of a concern.

Absolutely frightening stuff. Imagine the super artificial intelligence units running with an unlimited capacity of godly power, storing and monitoring everyone -everywhere on the planet! Plus who's really controlling that!.. Scary shit.
It's the people that just hand it all over without question that scares me, everyone says no it ends but my brother says well if your doing nothing wrong whats it matter o_O
Alexa saving peoples conversations, kids playing online gaming with the microphones listening to the conversations in the background google AI says
Chinese cameras saving video and audio ending up god knows where
oh well nothing I can do about it if the majority don't care back to the good times of 80s 90s

Yep, there's a lot of sheep out there annoyed at the guard dog barking while the wolf comes over the hill, maybe there're the ones really 'moaning' in the wrong direction!

People have traded control and freedom for convenience and injected fear.

Aaaaaahhh, the 70s,80s & 90s when families and individuals were adventurous and buzzing while going out shopping etc and not being monitored or distracted everywhere by big tech.

Men nowadays have less testosterone and intelligence (and it shows) through the foods, chemicals and technology they munch on.

Definitely back to the good times of the 80s and 90s

There's an argument against having the forced audible alert in case someone who is a victim of domestic abuse or coercive control has a hidden phone. Last thing you need is the phone giving it's location away.

You can disable the alerts in phone settings, but not everyone will be aware of that, this is government advise though.

Emergency alerts contain life-saving information and should be kept switched on for your own safety.

You can opt out of emergency alerts. For example, victims of domestic abuse with a concealed phone may find it appropriate to turn off alerts.

How you opt out depends on your device, if you still get alerts after opting out, contact your device manufacturer for help.

Er ... I do not have a cell/mobile phone ... but if I did I'd snap it in half if this kind of thing was unavoidable.
So im guessing most of us on here got that stupid alert message then on our mobiles

I've now turned that off, i dont really want to know if im going to die to a nuclear attack

But alerting people that its hot...what next, the sky is blue alerts?

That was a piss take

Yes exactly. Plus there's rumours that the younger generation are starting to wake up and look around at what's really going on in their country and around the world! so the people in charge are a bit panicked by this and would rather sway the young with even More of their bullshit propaganda and brainwashing.

Funny when these establishments get caught out with books and stuff😂😂
But what's more scary is what drip feeding of disinformation, spin, indoctrination goes on behind closed doors!

Remember imagination is the most powerful tool in the human mind, so if they can suppress and put blinkers on it to control and divert you they will.

No surprise the music scene is a pale example of where it was decades ago.
People addicted to the artificial convenience of modern technologies give away their imagination and spirit to the void.
