The old days when we had cool TV Shows and Movies, then came the Arcade or Computer Games which i loved to be honest

Like the Gremlins one Atari was working on which would have been cool, what other Movie/TV Tie in or Themed Arcade Game do you wish we'd had
I know we got quite a lot of them on the Spectrum, Commodores and Atari's and I appreciated some but others like Cobra could have literally been any game title really lol, they could just do so much more with the dedicated boards in the arcades with Music, Speech, SFX and Graphics if they had a good idea for tie in game

We had some cool ones like Robocop, Road Runner and Indiana Jones, Ninja Turtles, Simpsons. A playable cartoon was brilliant idea and easy to make it look good compared to the TV and the Music of Temple Of Doom with some speech was brilliant along with the Mine Carts chase bits though i'd have loved to see the mine cart bit more like Sega Rail Chase type view but was a good game all round I thought

Always thought they should have made Goonies Arcade, I know we had it on the C64/Atari 800 and the NES but I couldnt believe how bad it looked when I first revisited the game in early 90s on the 64 Emulator
Something like Escape From New York would have been nice, shame they never finished the one being worked on a few years back
Ghostbusters would have been nice over The Real Ghostbusters
Short Circuit was good movie and probably have been good candiate, could never work out what I was doing on C64 game though

These 3 would of made great arcade games.
The Running Man. Dataeast. 1988.
Take Ben Richards on a side scrolling beat em up adventure with elements of platforming and code collecting to open up routes while battling punks, soldiers, security and the bosses cronies to finally face a end of level boss like Subzero, Buzzsaw, Dynamo etc. Featuring the excerpts from the awesome Running Man Soundtrack.

Monkey (Monkey Magic). Konami. 1989.
Enter the mystical world of ancient china and play as your favourite character as you take on a wide variety of celestial gods, supernatural demons, monsters and mortal bandits in this frantic beat em up. Will you be brave enough to gain enough magic to use in this TMNTesque brawler.

Dungeons & Dragons. Capcom. 1990.
Board the amusement roller coaster and enter the magical realm in the epic weapons and magic based hack n slash beat em up. Who will you chose to fight to get back home! Eric the Cavalier, Diana the Acrobat, Presto the Magician, Sheila the thief or Bobby the Barbarian. The action never stops in this pre Knights Of The Round style classic. From the Dungeon Master to Venger your journey will never be easy.

I guess Chase HQ was of course a bit of a Miami Vice thing but a UK equivalent of say a full size Grenada or Escort RS2000 or Capri à la Sweeney or The Professionals arcade game would have been pretty cool! 😆

pretty sure they made a computer game of this, but not arcade

for the arcade version they could have just ripped off the first Renegade game, it would have been perfect
Yes, it was on PS2. Good game from what I remember, I've just recently put it on one of my handhelds to play through again.

Thundercats brawler would have been amazing... just imagine the attract screen 😍

I remember playing the c64 game at a mates and thought it was great at the time although I'm not so sure it was.

Yeah was on og Xbox also, if you complete the game it unlocks an arcade cab in your hideout where you can play the warriors as a double dragon style beat em up.... actually more fun than the main game 🤣

Yeah it was decent game but they did make 5 arcade cabinets for competition with Xbox inside running the game, I so regret not buying the one on ebay uk years back
Now these are the best pics available, should have at least saved the ebay photos

- The Warriors ,1979 (Final Fight style, but 4 players);

Yeah that could have been perfect side scrolling beat em up, It's already layed out in the movie for each stage being the different Gangs they fight one of my fav movies, can't imagine how good it would have been at cinema in 1979, would have made a cracking game :)

You had Monkey Magic on the C64 but again could have been called anything lol
They could have done a lot more with it on a Late 80s Arcade but it was nice they came up with so many home computer tie in movie/TV games
Same with Running Man on the Amiga, used to play it though I don't think i used to get far on it

Reading your post people will be trying to find these games  they sound like they existed lol

Yes i agree, they could of done a lot more on the late 80s arcade.
The home computer versions of film/toy/cartoons/superhero type stuff you always knew you were gonna get ripped off and arcade versions of some of these would of been ace. They definitely got it right with Robocop arcade.

Yes, i wrote the description on those 3 titles as if they were real promotional material!, Lol.

I did find out that there was actually an arcade game called Monkey Magic! 1979 Nintendo. Was just like a Breakout clone.
