Well, there's a record keeping effort going on over at klov, obviously easier for cabs with serial numbers.

Very interesting to look through it, gives an idea of how many were made and who owns them, highest production numbers, lowest production numbers etc

Easy to scoff at it if not everyone's contributing, but what's a better indicator? Some bloke down the pub? :p

Not many Nintendo radar scopes, something like 12 registered with a couple destroyed or something.

so many ways to think about this -

original production numbers

global/continent/national availability (at time of production and now)

fully original / licensed original / official conversion / bootleg

Come to think of it, it'd be an interesting project to get off the ground here.

I know not everyone would be happy disclosing what they have, but some kind of anonymous system could be cooked up.

I bet there'd be a few common conceptions blown out of the water bout what's scarce and what's not!

There’s rare stuff and then rare desirable stuff
Most of the rare diserable stuff has been found stashed away .
It’s then bought ,stashed away and hoarded somewhere else never to be seen again
So I doubt you will ever find out what’s truly rare, as some hoarders have duplicate cabs
Something I’ll never understand as I think they should be played ,

I think a UK Games Library would be very useful, I have no problem people knowing what I have.

Some forum members who I know have the same cab, monitors etc as I, have been invaluable to me in helping to fix my own cabs as you can ask questions about settings, voltages etc or just to get images of various bits and bobs.

For example Monstermug was a star when I had problems with my G05-801 monitor as I knew he had the same in one of his cabs so he not only helped fix it but playtested it to check it was sorted for me.

Also if someone has a cab listed in the "library" and they have also listed they are missing XYZ from it I might have the bit they are looking for or if I see one on my travels let them know.

Sad if you think about all the cabs that are no longer with us scrapped years ago when they wernt making money and people wernt collecting.
I feel we just have the leftovers now more stuff scrapped thqn in circulation for collectors

All the black and white games and large deluxe cabs like tx1,final lap,
Atari road riot

And all the electro mechanical shooters that used to be on peirs

Listened to a few american podcasts where they have multiples of the same game in storage :(

I still think a Pole Position cab still working after being left on for a couple of hours is right up there!

Don't talk to me about pole position! The pain of looking at a working cab, you can't play!

Mate have you still not got it sorted :(
You think it’s def the board now ?
No chance of getting a scrap board for parts ,as that isn’t one of the ‘normal issues with the boards ‘

Sheriff upright Nintendo is rare, only 2 or 3 known in the world, although probably the same with the Sega version. It's a shame as it's Nintendo's best looking cab imo, would love to see some more found so I can get one lol.

Atari Popeye is a rare one too - the fact Alpha1 still can't get one with all the cabs he's found over the years is testament to that I think!

There's gonna be stuff pop up that people didn't know existed at all, things keep showing up you just didn't think was made. There's also a lot of collectors who just won't reveal the rareties they've got in their collections, or just don't visit the forums. I think there's a ton of guys like that out there, with cabs that have probably never been seen by anyone else.
