That benchmark chart posted earlier seems pretty accurate. I have a Ryzen 7 3800X and it was, as you might expect, very slightly up on the 3700X games listed in the chart that I tried.

I just tried RidgeRacer, and I was able to get between 220% and 350% in game on GroovyMame 0.221, depending on how much was going on graphically.
Pretty sure the graphics card doesn't make that much of a difference.

Sounds great but can't really justify spending £300 on a MAME cab CPU at the moment. Is there anything that doesn't run on this?

Re gpu I was referring to Graphics cards for Chichiro and Naomi emulators.

Edit:
Ahh your Tronads I've heard your name on the 10p Podcast but always thought they were saying Trollnads!ShinraArcade2020-05-24 14:42:55

If you have an lcd, you can go with any gpu. If you go a for a high spec you will then need to buy a good power supply to power it.

I can only say they run fine with an older r9 380x (€50) cards but this is only for using a crt with emudriver. The r9 380x was the last one they made with crt analogue out and it's still quite powerful. Since you have an lcd you try going with say a cheap nvidia like a GTX 750 (€20). People here might have better recommendations for you.

Mame does offload some work to the card (no polygon rendering unfortunately) so it does help a little with mame too.

I've had an old Dell Optiplex running Chunksin's Win7 image with a radeon HD 5450 and that plays all 2D games perfectly - the CPU is only 2.x GHz, very low powered, but great. I've also got another setup using a Pi3 and Pi2Jamma, which works absolutely perfectly too for almost all 2D games, even up to CPS2 and CPS3, they're perfect.
I upgraded to get Demul running as I have a tri-sync Blast cabinet, but I'm really struggling to get proper full speed. I have an i7 4770K CPU (overclocked to 4.3Ghz) and an R9 380 GPU (not the X model), running on an SSD drive and they're just not getting full speed so I'm at a loss. Has anyone who is getting Demul running well on a CRT got any tips? Or do I just need to further upgrade my CPU and GPU? I wouldnt have thought that's necessary, but I dont know what else to try? I'm hoping I'm jus missing some GPU or DirectX drivers, but then I'm using CRT Emu so have followed those installation instructions.

Thanks
