afternoon all,

OK I acquired a Hyper olympics board and bought a jamma adaptor from silverfox (thank you) plugged it in and the board fires up but there is a just a screen full of blue circles (non microsoft related) and some spurious graphics.

Can anyone on here fix these boards, happy to pay?

many thanks for any help offered

Martin

That means the PCB is not getting enough power. Turn your 5 volts up a notch and try again

It's likely there is nothing wrong with the PCB

Purity, great piece of advice, that work perfectly, the only issue I have now is that none of the buttons work, any ideas on that would be appreciated :)

All fixed and working, thanks for everyones help.

The only issue I have now is the two Konami to Jamma connectors I bought do not work properly so will have to build my own.

- the first one only works 1 button for running and 1 for jumping and the other button appears to short out
- the second one works with the joystick but no buttons

Shame as that is £60 on 2 connectors so lessons learned on that front.

Now all I need is Ollly (Muddy music) to come through with new artwork for me and jobs a good 'un

When you say the Konami adapters don't work properly, what type of adapters did you buy?
Hyper Olympics cabs used all buttons, and those buttons don't map sensibly to the standard Konami pinout (ie the 2 run buttons don't map to left-right on the joystick).
You would need an adapter specifically for this game, and whoever created would need need to know if you intended to use the joystick and/or buttons.

Supersprint, many thanks but they are printed circuit board type adaptors so not sure I can... Experience tells me it is easier to build what I want rather than hack something

Supersprint, that is exactly the same one as I got from arcadeforge :) he he he that one only works with the joystick left and up for running :-(

I think building my own will give me what I want for now :)
