Who uses Virgin?

Hey guys,

Can any of you guys that use Virgin recommend it?

I've heard mixed opinions, some good, some bad.

Mainly I want to change my ISP as BT are starting to piss me off but if this happens then i'll grab the TV and phone package also. BT broadband is fine when it's working but it keeps dropping out!

Anybody?

Cheers, Al

BT have a good deal on until Wednesday via money saving expert, Unlimited Fibre internet at £12.50 a month for a year, (plus the £16.99 line rental) & you get the TV stuff along with BT sports.
I am with plus net on normal unlimited broadband for £9.99 + the BT line rental a month, it seems a good idea for me to jump to the BT package and go from 3mb download to 43mb in my street. Odd thing is plusnet are owned by BT, so not sure why I can't just get the same package through them. In a years time I'd jump to whoever is the fastest and cheapest again.

Another thumbs up for VM from me too. I've been with them since the NTL days (10+ years easily) and never had a single problem in all that time. I only have the broadband as I don't watch TV or have any use for a landline when I've got a mobile with tons of free minutes on its contract.

Generally heard pretty good reports, however depends on what service you can get, how far from the nearest big town, etc.
Broadband is only over the phone-line, so will never be much better than 8Mb (most people getting 4-6Mb), BT's Infinity is faster, however I am not sure how that works (maybe a mid-band variant).

Now I have optical cable in the street, and get over 100Mb to all my devices.
Even my upload is v quick at over 11Mb! :)
-I have TV and phone with Virgin too, just neater for me that way. ;-)

ISPs are very much a mixed bag, so it can be hit n miss depending on many factors...
