Yoke readings(how to take them)

Ive just been gifted a couple of old samsung 20” crt tv’s,which im hoping to rob the tubes from to use in a couple of my cabs,it’s been quite a few years since I last did a tube swap so can someone please remind me how to take the yoke readings with a multimeter please,

Opened up the first one,this is the tube number:

Disconnect the yoke from the chassis and measure each pair with a multi meter in ohms and note the readings. There's also different neck types to take into consideration.

I used to have good luck with Samsung tvs/tubes having the correct yoke / neck. Not so sure about the Thomson, plus it might not fit in a frame as it's 20" and not 19".

Out of intrest what chasis did you use hanty or wg?

Hantarex mtc9000.

I only ever found one WG tube yoke combo compatible in a tv and that was a 19" Goodmans TV.

Well I have a few spare hanty chasis so im hoping the yoke readings will be in range and the neck fitting as well,fingers crossed

Ok the tubes have the following yoke readings

AE51EBV13X01

Vertical 14.9 ohm
Horizontal 3.7 ohm

A48ECR11X61

Vertical 13.5 ohm
Horizontal 2.2 ohm

So any good for hanty chassis?

The Samsung one looks good as suspected the other the horizontal is a bit high but might work. It's been forever since I messed with this stuff but high reading either means the image might be too small or too wide. Some times it's close enough and you can adjust the width coil to get it where you need it.

Thanks for the reply,it is appreciated,good to know that at least 1 is probably useable,perhaps I need to check with TB2000 on the other one,just to be sure,as I know he often uses donor tubes

Ok samsung tube is now in a spare frame,jusr gotta change some plug types to connect the yoke,degauss,and earth wires
