I have started a new side proejct ha. I was always fascinated by the Tomy LSI games from back in the day. Especially the scramble implementation. Great fun game with fixed graphics not out of place in an early 80s arcade, which brings me to my little project.
I decided after getting an imported scramble game from japan to undertake a rewrite of it using python (my favourite coding choice, after c). Handily MAME has some graphics files that i can retrace and cut up for sprites etc.
After i get this working properly on my mac (also windows and linux) then i'm going to make an arcade version for 15khz monitors using a rPi and a pi2jamma. Should make a nice little arcade pcb for hook up to jamma cabs and something fun to play for awhile..
