I love foxes. However keep a look out if you have kittens. I know it's quite rare , but a mother fox attacked and killed a friends cat, presumably to feed her young, this was in the countryside, not urban. I understand it tends to be when foxes are desperate for food. Same fox was seen chasing another cat nearby.

Cats are great hunters
Possibly the best ..
killing all kinda birds / mice / bats / rats ,rabbits etc. it’s just the law of the jungle mate,
My cat chowed down on the neighbours Macaw.

Fox. Vixen seem to have a lot of cat like characteristics along with the wolf like dog characteristics .. a true survivalist . Can’t knock ‘em for trying to feed their young zz

It’s pre programmed into their DNA.

We're semi rural up here. The latest thing is for tulips getting nibbled by visiting deer. We also have foxes. Playful isn't how I would describe them.

Various friends and neighbours keep chickens - or rather, they kept chickens. Over the past few months, almost all have been slaughtered by foxes.

They don't do it because they're hungry. They do it partly in case they get hungry later. But also because they are emboldened. Turns out some other folk have been feeding the orange feckers - you guessed it - chicken, and they've got a taste for it.

They're now roaming the streets bold as brass in broad daylight looking for their next victims.

We don't get Foxes that close to home but living on the Salisbury plain I see them often when out on my Bike along with Tanks and Ukrainians in training!!

What I did find last Thursday morning was a Pipistrelle Bat enjoying one of my work boots. He was lucky the cat didn't spot him.

Anyhow, I grabbed him and took him up the Vet as they have a Bat specialist up there. He was pretty badly dehydrated but they want me to release him later today.

We get them in the house from time to time. At around 9.00pm most evenings the little buggers do figures of 8 around the garden taking out insects by the hundred.

Incredible little guys. They're tiny until they decide to get their wings out although this is the biggest I've seen by a fair margin.
