For PC items of value like a GPU I would always go with a specialist retailer, even if it costs a bit more.

The only issue I have had is the delivery drivers knocking once and then leaving items outside the front door, it makes no sense when somebody is in.

The only problem is when something falls outside the normal scenarios, for example I had a parcel delivered to the wrong address. The trouble was it was an unoccupied house. I watched them delver it and it notified me as posted thru the front door. Just it was not my front door!

They agreed to refund provided I return the item later... so by a stroke of luck somebody moved in within three months.

I do think there should be an incentive for only using your nominated delivery day.

When I had a delivery falsely reported as delivered, I was refunded with no hassle. I then discovered the item had been plonked by my neighbour's bins, a short way up the road. I contacted Amazon to ask how to return it and they said I can keep it by way of an apology for cocking up the delivery. lol.

Drives me nuts the way they leave parcels on the doorstep without even knocking! I've always wondered why criminals don't just follow delivery vans around all day just picking up the parcels they dump on our doorsteps.

I guess it's just down to the individual drivers. I currently have an Amazon parcel for my neighbour, as they didn't answer the door and the driver didn't want to just leave it on the doorstep.

I think that's all drivers to be fair , i have had Envry and royal mail drivers leave stuff anywhere in the past. If they dont deliver they dont get paid.

Dave.

There's so many cameras around my house that I almost want someone to nick something :D

Still wondering whether to send a certain delivery company the video of their driver having a piss in the bushes across the road

i dont know what you are going to do with the video, if you are thinking the police will do something....good luck
Mmm, I'm not a grass  it was my 15 year old daughter that took the video on her iPhone as where he was having a slash was directly opposite her bedroom, so I'm not overly impressed. To be honest I understand sometimes you need to go especially if you're driving a van all day but given I live in the middle of nowhere he only had to drive 20 yards and no one would've given a fuck.

Ahh got you, doh:D. Had an outbuilding burgled a while back and the policeman that turned up proceeded to tell me how I should claim for this that and the other that I didn't have from insurers. He shut up pretty quickly when I informed him I worked in insurance :D.

I didn't video anyone, the cameras face into the property not out across the road, but you know teenagers and phones :D

everytime the delivery driver does what someone above has said, ie. left it behind my bin etc etc, i seem to have that item stolen, the 2 most expensive items were a £80 dog pen and a LEGO set worth £130

its funny since i "didnt" get those, they always make sure they knock now and hand me my parcel, everyones a winner these days
Shit man! Your dog can write!

This is such a dick move for someone so full of morality in the AWUK thread.

If the delivery guy leaves it on plain view wedged against my front door then I get a little annoyed, but this rarely happens to me, I don’t have any issue with them leaving it hidden behind a bin or under my garden gate, as long as I get the item I am happy

Yeah. Local Amazon delivery lady recently asked me actually and I said yeah that's fine. It's not ideal but she's not throwing it over a wall and it helps her out a lot to put a little trust in the human race.

A few years ago I had a £2000 item left on the doorstep. That was annoying and I was very aware I could have claimed no delivery. I can understand the temptation to lie but it ruins someone's job.

Last few times I've used amazon I used the locker pickup option as you can get free shipping even if below their £26 or whatever it is now limit. Never had a problem with that service and it's always quicker than advertised, and their local locker to me is at Morrisons so I can pickup when I do my weekly shop.

I canned Prime as soon as they started putting adverts in and asking for more money to remove them. Hardly used them since, trying to support other businesses instead.
Yeah Prime just gets worse and worse, almost like they're trying to kill it off. 😆 I get all my subscription value from the free delivery, so I still currently subscribe.

I was gutted because I wanted to finish Clarkson's Farm but I can't in good conscience watch adverts when paying for a streaming service!
