I always wanted a Kasco 'The Driver' sit down cab ever since I've ben collecting but I've never seen one for sale. The only one I remember seeing in an arcade was on South Pier, Blackpool I would look forward to going there every autumn just so I could play this. I remember the game gave a free credit for passing a certain score not everyone realized this my brother and I would hang around the machine playing all the free credits :)

The game was an on rails driving game where you chased a car through several scenario's the graphics were projected to the screen from 8mm film and considering this was 1979 they were better than anything in an arcade at the time.

I would have loved to have gotten hold of one of these, unfortunately now I don't really have the space.

Does anyone else remember this and did you or do you own one?

I remember it, quite impressive game with the car chase filmed scenes. They had one in Mr B's (Blackpool again) upstairs where there also used to be a fairground, along with the only Cliff Hanger laser video game I ever saw and the Atari/Namco F1 which was another electro-mechanical game which was everywhere, but then suddenly nowhere. Circa 83/84/85 ish.

I used to hate the caberat games.for some reason. Including my holy grail game being Gorf. I would love to add this to my collection now. I noticed it's the side art that sucked me in. Maybe that's why I still stare at my midway space invaders !!!

Hillbilly Moonshine :) they were brilliant when kids, we would always try and shoot the ones that shot water out when people walking past try hitting them

Can't find one of the older ones we played with Old Woman in rocking chair.

Pan Amusements and they are still going but as usual the new ones aren't as good

There was one on ebay once, It was only on couple of days before it was gone so someone must of done a deal

If you want to have a go on an original Hillbilly Moonshine, you need to get yourself down to Harbour Amusements in St. Ives down here in Cornwall! If I remember correctly, the tech who used to work there (Chris I think his name was) said it was put in in the 1960's I think, and it's still there now in full working condition. It's been upgraded over the years, such as it's now got digital sound players for the voices etc, instead of magnetic tape players (8 track probably) and it now uses 12v solonoids instead of mains 100-240v ones! But it's all still there as far as I know. :D In fact if you go on Google street view and look at the front of the arcade (latest capture is June last year) you can see it through the front windows, Google has even blurred out the face of one of the mannequins!

A lot of the cabs that i've never managed to find are really too large for a home setting anyway! There's loads to be honest, the biggest are probably Shoot Away (the original), CosmoSwat, TX1, Buggy Boy triple screen, 33" sit down Ridge Racer, Time Crisis 50" DX, Super Sprint, Superbike T.T. (not Manx TT, could've been Hang On deluxe, although stickers on the ride-on bike in a pic of one seem different to the one in a video on youtube of Harbour Amusements in 1990), 720 degrees, Metal Hawk, a Namco twin motorbike game I forget the name of (could actually be Four Trax), Slick Shot pool cab, and a load of others I can't remember right now, but also plenty of normal sized cabs that are either out of my price range or I just don't have room for anyway (or both!) such as Paperboy, Operation Wolf, Championship Sprint, Robocop, T2, Pacmania, loads of others, a whole bunch of vintage fruit machines such as Eachway Nudger, Nudge Double Up - that sort of thing, it's basically all the cabs I played regularly whenever I went on holiday back in the 80's and 90's.

If space and effort wasn't an issue it's going to be bigger machines,

House of the dead 2 sit in deluxe, I remember walking out of an arcade as a big delivery arrived, stuck around to see some parts and that it was hotd2, which blew me away. Stuck around nearby for a solid 3 hours waiting for them to piece it together and test it out, first person to play it!

Virtual On, a big chunky 2 player versus cabinet, way better than you'd give it credit for, played it absolutely tons

daytona usa! Not too unusual to see but just way too big. 4 player even better.

Another one I'll throw in because I remember it being great fun, it was a lightgun game with a 3d detector built around the cabinet. So if you physically ducked, the character would duck, if you leaned left, character leaned left. Police 911 (had to look that up!). I'd love a go of that again, never seen one for sale.

That police game was brilliant. Not sure I'd risk playing it now though. You'd have to be pretty fit to do it justice, with all the bobbing and weaving that's required. Btw, pretty sure it was called Police 24/7 over here. Someone was selling one on the forum about 10 years back!
