has anyone played this, i only bought a PS5 the other week and after playing a bit of GT7, thought i would give the playroom game a whirl and thought it was pretty great, then noticed a full game was due to be released

got the game on launch day along with the controller(because why not) and i think its the best platform game i have ever played, its full of so many great ideas(not new, just great) and is so so polished and the main game is a nice little ride, but some of the secret levels are absolute swines

i managed to platinum it at the weekend and it was an absolute delight from start to finish, there was a LOT of swearing towards the end and trying to grab the last few bots and i can only think the game would have been even more enjoyable if my last playstation console wasnt the PS2, as there are so many cameos from characters from exclusive games to the consles

all in all, if you own a PS5, get this game, and if you dont, think about buying one to play this game

just to add, i am a nearing 50 year old, so have lived through all of the platform greats of the years, i would rate either Super Mario World as the greatest 2d platformer and maybe Mario Galaxy as the best 3d platformer, i think this is better than both of them.

they are also adding more content later on in the year and bringing in time trials/races which were in the playroom game, its just an absolute joy to play with some "i need to walk away for a bit" levels, and i loved those TBH

i have passed this game to a youngster i manage and he is absolutely in love with it as well, he is about 21, when i told him it was possibly the best platformer i have ever played he asked me if it was better than Mario Galaxy 2, i told him Mario Galaxy 1 was better than that and was still 3rd on my list

I love platform games, and loved the PS4 VR game.

Galaxy 2 > Galaxy 1 though, IMO :D

Celeste also top 5 for me, amazing game.
Celeste is great, so many great new games that i often forget some of them

I only bought a PS5 for GT7 because it was all on offer at the time, so many great games about these days, its hard to know what to play sometimes

I am currently playing through Horizon Zero Dawn, not a game style that would normally grab me so i am still on the fence a little bit, its still very very good though, i think the story is better than the gameplay

trying to get these younger folks trying to play games like Super Meat Boy, Celeste, Ori and Hollow Knight is near impossible...i will keep trying though to educate them

How is astrobot difficulty wise?

I have heard that the challenge sections really ramp it up which is appealing.
most of the game is just enjoyable, not very difficult, there are a few hard levels towards the end of the game IF you want to collect all the bots

they are releasing an update that will also add in the speed run levels which i think it needs, its still a great game though, but only if you want to collect everything

its a lot easier than Super Mario World and feels less cheaty than that

I got myself a PS5 at the start of the year. I played Astrobot thinking it would just be a little cute way to pass the time, but it impressed me enough that I ended up fully completing it (a rare thing for me these days). I haven't picked up the full game yet, but probably will do at some point.

oh if you are talking about Playroom, that is nice, the full game is on a different level altogether
