Phoenixed a Mexican cps2 - Blue screen help

Went for a grand master x phoenix rom set ..

Checked and re checked all rom chip legs ..

Boards are together ok ..

Checked / rechecked all jumpers continuity - all ok

I did that I haven’t shorted exc5. Battery capacitor

Will shorting the cap have any effect if I end up needing to add infinity key ?

You need to short the cap or wait for it to go flat, the infinity key is for non pheonixed / original roms.

I have one I keep for emergencies, but unsure if they are available in the UK. I swapped a load of batteries for a guy on Arcade Otaku and he gave me one just in case any boards died.

few little wires to solder ..

i just found it hard to get enough heat from my solder iron for the jumpers ..

The jumpers are tiny on the infinikey, yes they hold the keys for all the games as far as I know. I used mine on a couple to revive games.

Very smart ..

This one is phoenix type uses decrypted roms , Infinity more desirable as using original roms /rom sets . But I need to get my confidence up
I need to try a diffrent tip on my iron .. for starters ..
flat type …. More contact than my current fine point tip ..
been watching the pace tutorials on soldering …

More surface area contact faster heat time !

I end up using the side of the tip for more contact .. só yeh
Will try new tip shape..
