Hi all,
I’m trying to identify the name of the connector plug that would plug into the Konami Windy 2 PSU in the top left of this picture labelled DC +12v.

I’m missing this cable/plug which means my rear monitor fan has nothing to connect to, so I need to make a new wire harness, but I’m struggling online to find the matching 3-pin male connector.

If anyone can help me with the search term for this type, please can you let me know? Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll start searching for a YL. Cheers

Actually….scratch that! I’ve just realised my PSU is slightly different. The connector socket shown above on my unit is identical, but provides 120v AC OUT instead of DC 12v OUT. Soo…..I’ve no idea how the rear monitor fan is supposed to be powered!

Well, after lots of research I discovered what type/size of JST connector it is. The JST datasheet for the connector can be found here and it’s very useful: https://www.jst-mfg.com/product/pdf/eng/eVL2.pdf

The plastic male connector is manufactured by JST and is a: “VLP-03V”. This part comes in one size and fits into the female housing of the Windy2 power supply.

The pins that fit into the male connector are called: “SVF-61T-P2.0”

The retaining clip for the wires that you’ll fit into the pins is: “VLS-03V”.

I bought a tiny transformer that converts the 120v AC output, to DC 12v. Max current draw 500mA and 6W power. That’s more than enough capability for the 92mm fan attached to the rear casing. I purchased a silent fan from eBay, but the original Windy2 fan extracts more air out of the cabinet than the silent fan, so I’ll probably stick with the original fan after all, even though it’s a bit louder.

EDIT: I bought a 92mm Noctua NF-A9 PWM fan in the end. It’s much quieter compared to the original, and creates a very good extraction/exhaust flow. I left the machine running for about 9hrs yesterday, with lots of intermittent game plays, and the temperatures and performance was great.
