What's happened to Arcadeworld UK?

It seems very odd to destroy a decades old reputation of being good for a few quid at the end. Which most folk are probably going to claim back depending on how they paid.
Totally agree and this is why it all seems very odd. Even with the recent sales/deals, while they seemed almost too generous, I didn't question their integrity due to the company's substantial track record

But a whole combined takedown of their site/socials/email address? Not looking good

I have had to lodge a dispute with VISA via my bank

Other strange thing is it says incorporated may 2023 on companies house and this is incorrect. I started using the at least 20 yeats ago. Unsure why data would be incorrect.

As also said they had good following and good reputation so shorly he would not rip people off just for a few quid ?? But again looks that way as everything gone.

His address listed on companies house as well but that could be business premisses i suppose.

That incorporated date confused me, too. Maybe that's when it became a limited company, or something. Business stuff isn't really my field of expertise. Lol.

I had a builder fuck me over in June 2020 when during Covid, he dissolved his company. He took a 6k advance to do the bathroom (his work was fine by the way - didn't doubt his workmanship) and as he was reputable, we didn't think anything of it as he'd pretty much renovated the rest of the house.

He didn't even tell his builders who were onsite when we found out. We ended up taking on his builders to complete the job as they were great. I just think he took on way too much work (as most builders do) and ended up taking money to pay towards a previous job.

After checking Companies House, it looked liked he'd planned it from early Jan by removing his father and wife as directors and changing his address from his personal address (near where I live) to a holding company where multiple businesses were based.

I don't get why people do this - ruining their reputation just for that last hit of money before folding/disappearing.

For gaming related shenanigans, I think this happened with some French dudes in the Neo Geo scene who were converting MVS carts and selling them as original AES quite a number of years ago. I think it blew up and years of good reputation ruined when they were caught red handed.

I’ve also lodge a dispute with my bank but not holding out much as I placed my order at the end of feb.

What gets me, is how long Arcadeworld were involved in the scene and the wide customer base they had. Somebody must be close to them and know what's going on

Brexit would not have helped as orders from EU would have dried up due to the taxes. I used to order from there but switched to arcadexpress.com in Spain.

Or could he have been hacked and his Web hosting expired? The domain name is good until November

Update: I Woke up this morning to a credit from my bank, having logged a dispute yesterday. Maybe they know something, or can at least find and trace money? Hope others can get money back if they have bought goods in good faith.
It’s a real shame. It was my go to for parts.
Does anyone have a good alternative in the uk?

Did they use that domain as well, their domain that comes up is arcadeworlduk.com which expires in June.

Interesting that along with deleting their socials they've also removed all the DNS entries for their website, email etc.

Certainly seems like a bit of a moonlight flit.

Hopefully nobody got stung for those 800+ quid Qanba arcade desks they were offering preorders for recently

That aside, not many reliable places to get parts from these days, without having to swallow expensive import prices from the EU

On one of those review type sites someone says they've been stung for a £1400+ order not delivered.

For the cheaper prices just get from Ali Express or Ali Baba, Im pretty sure most of their gear came from there anyway.

Ultimarc stuff you can still get direct from Ultimarc.

Review was on trust pilot which it looks like they've also unclaimed their profile on, yet replied in the past so will have had ownership of it.

Proper dodgy.

i used to order from this site but have found the past few years they have had very few items in stock, but still listed them on the website

think i last ordered some springs from their ebay account about a year ago but the constant offer emails always seemed a bit suspect to me as the stock on the site dwindled
