You know I was just thinking bloody hell how many time do I have to say it's a roll out, but I checked and the advanced option is available after all. Thanks.

But I'm certain it wasn't there previously. According to some posts on the ebay forums they did remove it and have returned it recently.

Was in the link I added https://www.valueaddedresource.net/ebay-uk-makes-opting-out-of-simple-delivery-harder/

They always making it harder to find stuff you want to turn off, I have resisted giving mobile number and everytime I have to log in it takes me to contact details update, it makes it look like you can't continue until you do but I just click on ebay logo and bypass the nonsense

My Dad got caught out by Microsoft when installed win 10 as that makes it look like you have to register with them but I didn't fall for it, I found you could bypass that shite too

On top of them hiding things, you get someone saying ebay now forcing you to use simple delivery but is it true or just people that can't find how to turn off, then pathetic A.I. on Google repeats what people have said it seems

I'll worry about it when you don't get to choose at all but do my hardest to resist all this pushing people to do online everything

I've got some more stuff to sell but I really can't be arsed with all the messing about as I'm easily confused. It seems these days that pretty much everything that once worked has to now be broken.

1st thought is Don't use shitty Data Collection Tracking Apps to do ebay on, that's why they keep pushing you to use it with pathetic £5 off or something to switch to it, I only use PC on Website till they stop that at some point probably

Check all settings and check your listings are how you want them

When are people going to learn that Technology is a crock of shite and it's going to make your life a nightmare in time
Technology is a crock of shite
Technology is fine when I control it, A Spectrum never spied on me, a phone was used to talk to friends, only Polybius made me do things I can't remember... Tech is ruddy flippin poopy now as it tries to conrol me.

Can we swear here, motherflippers?

If I sell anything arcade related I use the forum and the UKvac Facebook page. I've not found myself needing to use anything else, unless maybe some pinball bits on pinballinfo forum.

Well it's as true as eBay's announcement that it will be the only method available so it's not quite misinformation. The advanced button wasn't there at a point while they seem to be tinkering. To take their statement literally would mean that it's going to be removed again.

As greedy corporations go I still like ebay. They just have a long line of strange ideas to attract people that are never going to use it anyway.

This is what you get from Google and open link According to a post of the ebay UK Commmunity I get the below
AI Overview
Learn more

Starting April 15, 2025, eBay will require private sellers in the UK to use Simple Delivery for most items. This managed shipping option will be the only delivery method available for eligible listings, according to an eBay Community post. While there will be some exceptions for certain low-priced or bulky items, and local pick-up, most private sellers will be required to use Simple Delivery.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Mandatory Simple Delivery:
From April 15, 2025, Simple Delivery will be the default and only delivery option for eligible listings, according to a post on the eBay UK Community.

    Exceptions:
There will be some exceptions, such as items under £10 and 100g or less, and local pick-up, according to an eBay help page.
    Gradual Implementation:

Value Added Resource reports that eBay initially made Simple Delivery the default setting rather than Custom Postage, gradually leading up to the mandatory rollout.

    Existing Listings:

eBay will also be adjusting existing listings to use Simple Delivery, starting from April 7, according to a thread on the eBay Community.

Link AI refers too

just recieved this from e bay

so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.
so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.
and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.
oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...
so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.
HOWEVER
if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.
e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Message I get from ebay

We’re continuing our mission to provide you with a great selling experience on eBay, which is why we made it free to sell. Now, we’re improving delivery so it’s faster, easier, and more secure for you to send your items.

Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.

What is Simple Delivery?

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works:
  • 1.
When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest.
  • 2.
Once your item sells, you’ll receive both a printer-less QR code and a prepaid printable label, so you can choose what’s easiest.
  • 3.
Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done!
You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates.

Benefits of Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience:
  • •
Fastest way to get payments: Get your funds 2 days after delivery confirmation when using our prepaid labels.
  • •
Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.
  • •
Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.
  • •
Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.
  • •
Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking so buyers always know where their items are.
  • •
Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.
  • •
Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales. Click the button below to see what’s eligible.

My Question is, are you then forced to use online postage through ebay or change preferences you can post items as normal at post office which is what I like to do, its all a joke these days, forced to do stuff is getting worse by the month but that's because most people accept it as progress, it ain't though is it

Load of Tech Support people at my work get made redundant before Christmas, now I know why, Software (A.I.) and our extra input is the replacement so more work for us, less people employed and company use crap software to replace them

When an item is sold it asks for feedback about the new simple delivery, so I've given my feedback and suggest everybody do the same.

The issue for me is also with the weight of some items , the scales at the post office and the staff may struggle to handle bulky items over 5KG.
It's not fair on them, that's why I use collection - with a dedicated courier who can load strait into a van.

Let's hope they add the collection option in future.

The only benefit I can see with the new system is that they are guaranteeing the delivery once dropped off, even if the buyer chooses the cheapest option.
Also I believe the postoffice have details about the item, so you no longer get questioned on what you are posting.

I would tend pay the extra to insure the full price of the item even if it cost a few pounds more , but seems Ebay are taking the risk now... as no insurance such options or 'tracking/signedfor' add ons are given to the seller.

No doubt this will change when it starts to cost Ebay money.

Isn’t this the whole point of the Buyer Protection Fee? ie., the Seller is no longer expected to act as an insurance agent to cover the loss, but the buyer is now forced to take out insurance against every private seller purchase?

Also, you can bet that eBay have contracts in place with Royal Mail and Evri, so the couriers have to reimburse eBay for any claims that don’t show end to end tracking. I can’t see this costing eBay at all.

The seller is still paying for shipping, they are the ones that the courier has the contract with.

If buyer protection fee means I as a seller am no longer responsible for loss or damage claims, that would be a big benefit and I'd be far happier with the inconvenience

Does anyone know how to get Royal Mail to bring a label now with Ebay forcing us to use it's platform to book a delivery? When I select RM collection there doesn't seem to be an option for them to bring a label, only for me to print one (but I don't have a printer).
