Well it's as true as eBay's announcement that it will be the only method available so it's not quite misinformation. The advanced button wasn't there at a point while they seem to be tinkering. To take their statement literally would mean that it's going to be removed again.
As greedy corporations go I still like ebay. They just have a long line of strange ideas to attract people that are never going to use it anyway.
This is what you get from Google and open link According to a post of the ebay UK Commmunity I get the below

Starting April 15, 2025, eBay will require private sellers in the UK to use Simple Delivery for most items. This managed shipping option will be the only delivery method available for eligible listings, according to an eBay Community post. While there will be some exceptions for certain low-priced or bulky items, and local pick-up, most private sellers will be required to use Simple Delivery.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
- Mandatory Simple Delivery:
From April 15, 2025, Simple Delivery will be the default and only delivery option for eligible listings, according to a post on the eBay UK Community.
Exceptions:
There will be some exceptions, such as items under £10 and 100g or less, and local pick-up, according to an eBay help page.
Gradual Implementation:
Value Added Resource reports that eBay initially made Simple Delivery the default setting rather than Custom Postage, gradually leading up to the mandatory rollout.
Existing Listings:
eBay will also be adjusting existing listings to use Simple Delivery, starting from April 7, according to a thread on the eBay Community.

just recieved this from e bay
so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.
so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.
and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.
oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...
so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.
HOWEVER
if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.
e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works: |
| When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest. |

| Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done! |

You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates. |

My Question is, are you then forced to use online postage through ebay or change preferences you can post items as normal at post office which is what I like to do, its all a joke these days, forced to do stuff is getting worse by the month but that's because most people accept it as progress, it ain't though is it
