I retranslated it and still can't fathom out how voltages or the choice of chip packaging is linked to glitches - you'd have much bigger problems than some odd colours if it was. Sounds like more what happens when you're up against it and have no time for debugging minor emulation issues and a second proto before production.
Rather amazed they'd actually admit all that as it'll be marketing suicide. Perhaps it's a misunderstanding and there'll be a revision before release.
Couldn't they have just done this in an FPGA rather than all the 'better than you' marketing spiel of ASICs? Would still have sold well with SNK stamped on it.
edit: interesting it's the flash in the carts that caused all the delay anyway. Suggests they were telling the truth and the console was on track with production, they just would have no games to sell with it.
