The guy I was talking to first in Dublin was top guy, agreed with me and he looked at the pictures and description, it was when they have to pass you to an "Agent" and that guy was a total cock

Saying it doesn't matter what the description says is just such rubbish, and it's all about the buyers experience, We ebay are a business so all he seemed to be bothered about was I don't want to upset this pathetic customer with low feedback and screw the person that has been active on ebay as Buyer and Seller for 17 years

I did mess up a little in the listing, I missed taking out the Good Condition part from the same Front wing on drivers side when I did sell similar for passenger wing, so had to blag that a bit and say the metal is in good condition, but as stated it has some small dings here n there and the paint is very poor

The good news is, he said he would phone me back yesterday when he's spoke to some other colleagues and to his word he did, they agreed with me too and they have closed it off in my favour thank god. Even he said he was happy with what that Agent guy was saying

The worst part about all this is, I sold the front wings off this old Honda, 20 year old car and I only sold it for £15 reflecting the condition of it and the nightmare that it's costing more to post it so people won't want to pay much when it needs repainting, I didn't even charge enough to cover the postage and it took me 2 nights searching the net to find a courier that would post it for less than £20

I was going to send with hermes but they were going to take a week to deliver, parcelforce want £37 to send an item that's light, long, high but not very wide, since City link went sending big items is hopeless

So a 20 year old car wing that has the laquer peeled off and someone must of sanded down, all noted in description and photos and the knob buys it, I messaged him explaining the nightmare it was taking to send but its now and way and be with him in 24hours and he opens a case saying it has a couple of dents and doesn't say it in description when it does. Main thing is, if you bought a wing for £15 and it says the paint is very poor you wouldn't care about a couple of minor dents even if it wasnt in description because it needs respraying anyway, until I cleaned it you couldn't see the dents, but I cleaned it all so it was shown.

I think he either didn't read description or he bought it and found he's bought the wrong one so lies to try returning and that's what your up against

Sold another item after this, I didn't think to put in listing how it wires up but I know it was working fine when removed. guy bought it, was going to test it before posting as I always do. even I'm not sure how it connects so I messaged him before posting, explained if he's bought to replace same part then he will be fine but if he's bought for something else then I wanted to check you know how to wire it up else I'll have another return case open

Got no reply after a day, so I phoned the arse up, his wife says he wanted to cancel it, so I said, not had a reply saying anything, spoke to him and his answer was, I wasn't sure what you meant. what so you just don't bother to reply at all, then it's the classic answer, it looked the same as the one I have, I asked if it's same model but it wasn't

So you have to assume all buyers are stupid and Vet them now

Love the people that put in listing.... Sold as is, no returns etc that won't help you when case opened

Shocking reading other peoples dealings also though, just can't believe how some get screwed over

wait till you sell a 6ft x 3ft picture, and they say not as described because the bird in the skyline wasn't on the ebay picture when its the same file.
They say they can't see it on the ebay picture because the picture is small, and doesn't really show up.

And then say your description did not mention the bird!

What these scammers seem to forget is that you already have their name and address since you've sent them the item in the first place. It's about time someone paid them a little visit and broke their legs! At least you'd feel like your money wasn't wasted then

I got banned from selling due to listing some stuff that I preordered. My preorder fell through so I gave everyone their money back. Next thing I knew I’m banned from selling. 100% good feedback no bad emails from anyone, fully apologetic for the sale falling through. eBay didnt care, I had broken “one of the 4” rules of selling apparently. I told them to stick it and close my account, which they refuse to do just in case I open another. This was 4 years ago. They have since offered me a chance to sell if I can fill out a form telling them why I broke the rule and why it won’t happen again. I think I may have used the word fxxk about 10 times in my answer.

Demeaning, more than anything else. What caused me the most stress was being aware that I was getting stressed about something relatively unimportant, in my own personal scheme of things. I got myself all existential and whatnot. I also felt like reaching down the line and squeezing the jelly from their eyeballs. Impotent rage. I really feel for small businesses who rely on eBay. 10% and they rub your nose in sh*t.

Here's a buyer to block: susanh5629

She bought Crazy Taxi 3 Xbox US import off me on ebay. The game was brand new with the Microsoft seal across the spine/opening. The game was not cellophane sealed and the outside of the case was worn /had shelf wear. This was all described in the listing with pictures.

The buyer raised a claim 10 days later saying the game was used with just a sticker!! WTF! Clearly factory sealed. I asked for pictures showing the game still sealed. No response. She clearly opened it, found it didn't work on her UK Xbox and decided to lie to get a refund. ebay have now decided to side with her and give her a refund. They are f'ing cun#s.

The thing is she is selling brand new sealed Steelbooks Blu-rays herself;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/susanh5629/m.html?item=123109373268&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

She has this on her auction;

Please Note: There may be imperfections obscured that cannot be seen without opening the item. I cannot be held responsible for this as I can only describe the item as far as I can possibly examine it. Please keep this in mind when purchasing as an item cannot be returned after the factory seal has been removed.

I messaged her and advised somebody could quite easily buy the Blu-ray, open it up, change their mind and then lie and say it's fake/damaged or whatever. She would then have to give a refund and the Blu-ray would then be worth next to nothing "second-hand". No response.

You would think a buyer who also sells would be decent. Just shows what sort of fraudulent and dishonest people there are.

I think I'm done selling on ebay now. Too much hassle and open to abuse. Sellers have absolutely no rights on there.

I wish I had recorded it Alpha, I couldn't believe what the idiot was saying to me

They usually email you the transcript after if you used eBay chat support. It will be in your inbox in your emails and your eBay messages.

But to the topic at hand... I can relate... I have literally just given up using eBay as my main supplier for pretty much everything. I've been a eBayer for over 10 years, 1000+ feedback. But it's just a joke now.

Chinese sellers everywhere pretending to be UK, fake items are all over (particularly SD cards, Phone chargers etc) takes you ages to find items as everything is listed in the wrong place and full of spam listings. I could go on and on.

I have sold on eBay and you are totally right. Scammers all over the place these days, eBay is all about the buyer and the high fee's on top of this just make it not worth it for me.

I've made a few orders on Amazon the past few days (was never a user before now) and it's like a breath of fresh air quite honestly. My advice to anyone is move to Amazon for buying stuff.

Ooh I have sold on Amazon and they have given refunds to customers and told them to keep the items as well. When I contacted Amazon they said I had to chase the money back. I emailed the buyer stating that as Amazon haven given them refund I require my item to be returned which they refused. Amazon then got a complaint from the buyer saying that I was harassing them for my money back. I advised Amazon that they cannot give my item away for free so I eventually got my money back. Will not use Amazon marketplace again...

Admittedly I've never sold on Amazon. That is terrible though...

Best place to sell these days is Facebook. No fee's, no hassle, 99% of the time buyer comes to you and see's the item beforehand.

It has it's faults too, though.

Ultimately its not ebay and Amazon at fault.

Its liars and stealers.

Bit like is social media the issue? or is it the users?

Amazon and eBay have a hard job to do in all fairness (even tho their decisions piss me off!)

If you open a shop people will steal

If you open a ebay / amazon shop (even as private seller) people will steal

EXCEPT... like road rage, people think they are invincible and there is no repercussion for their actions.

People unfortunately don't see it as stealing.

I had a friend state that a item never showed, eBay refunded them, 1 week later a neighbour brought the package, he asked me what to do, should he contact seller shop and tell them he has it because the seller would never know... My reply "would you steal from a shop, are you a thief?"... His eyes lit up and just said "good point, I didn't see it like that".

Let me add to the rant.

Sold a Focus RS bonnet which had some damage, hence why i changed it.

Sold it as collect only.

Customer sorted his own collection and two weeks later sent me an email stating his body shop said it wasn't worth repairing so he wanted his money back.

I told him to cock off, he picked it up and it shows the damage and he has had it two weeks, his crappy body shop isnt my concern.

Ebay sided with him and want me to arrange to collect a damaged bonnet from Scotland at my cost or they will give him his money back and he gets to keep it as well, gave me 4 days to sort this out.

I have given up shouting at ebay about it but i have told the seller to smash the bonnet up and send me the images otherwise I will be up there damaging the first bonnet I come across in his driveway.

Will never direct sell on ebay again.

@patloz I'd just send ebay a small claim online for the amount. See what they do then. He picked it up?!!!! Cheeky get.

In the same way their automated BS doesn't account for the actual situation of the purchase (like - for example - a geezer actually PICKING UP an item then deciding it's not for him later, and demanding a refund!) I'm sure their automated BS won't be able to deal with a small claim, and they'll just pay out.

I sent some art to USA, the woman said She didn't like it in the flesh.
I explained thats fine, it is as advertised but just not as expected.

(remember nothing more to sell a picture but to show the picture)

She said then it isn't worth it, as 50% is shipping (it was included free). I should of sent snail mail.

I said she can send back. I sold for $150USD,

She said she is semi disabled and can't get out to ship it and I need to pick it up.

I explained she can book parcels online.

She said she got quoted $200 and that is a scam.

I explained AMAZON tells us we have to do 1 day dispatch and express meet our metrics. Unfortunately express insured post is expensive. We get 70% off A to B, but not B back to A.

Because I make on demand items, semi unique, I said it is fine to slice the picture corner to corner, send me a picture and I'll refund no more hassle!

She said thats a disgusting thing to ask. Thats dangerous

I said ok, could you scribble it out with a pen, marker across it.

She said I'm causing her a lot of hassle and she's offended at the ongoing emails this should be sorted by now.

She then left Negative feedback saying " don't buy from seller, its a scam, and charge $200 to return"

Then opened a A-Z case saying not as described, and refused to help.

The case close immediately in buyer favour.

On this occasion I rang amazon and expressed what had happened, and told them I am a credit to their site, and I have even shown that it this transaction by helping someone with a refund without asking for my product back.

Amazon did do well here, and they said they will credit the amount back to my account.

But still the buyer has their money and goods.
