Hmmm, I pity people who have a 60's TR6 injection engine or similar since I think (without modification) they originally required 5 star fuel and the metering unit and pump also liked lead in them and of course the myriad of plastic high pressure fuel lines... Anyhoo, filled up the 2001 passat 2.0 'sport' (cough) on E10 petrol about a week ago and it seems even slower than usual and fuel economy not sure, maybe down a bit but too early to tell. I've avoided trying it on my older cars yet but of course now *any* petrol of any grade will seem like manna from heaven judging by the state of things on the forecourts.

I'm somewhat concerned about reports of this sh17t3 corroding metal in carb bodies since despite the bluff and bluster over the years from 'experts' things like the good old 'SU' carb will run for 40+ years and the main problem you get is the float bowl or float needle sticking because you were too cheap to stick a £3 fuel filter in line or a flat spot as the damper needs some oil. Yes, I know the main jets and throttle butterflies can wear but really rather slowly and no rubber diaphragms or accelerator pumps to rupture and bleed fuel everywhere - which makes me wonder how my edelbrock/webber 500 will cope on the old rover V8 :-/

What about classic car owners, with £100,000 of cars in their collection? Watch the price of classic cars come down and will soon be unsellable.

I don't want no sh*t electric car, as I'm a petrol head.
