Hey folks.
I have a couple of 2human MAME setups from around 2014 (details lost in the J+ debacle).
I had one for vert games and one for horizontal. The vert one was a bit more powerful to run Cave shooters etc.
They were in storage for a few years but I had both working last week in my JAMMA cab. The cmos batteries had gone so I needed to redo the settings to get it to boot from USB.
My vert game started to lose settings, for example my additional key mappings disappeared, then I lost my game lists, now I can’t seem to save lists or key bindings between boots.
I thought I’d have a look at the USB drive in my PC but apparently it can’t read Linux drives. I’m left with a setup that can’t retain lists and boots to a blank Groovy Arcade options screen.
Is there a simple way to ‘reset’ the install back to defaults or do I have to reinstall? Should I update anyway given they are a few years old now?
I purposely got these PCs so I didn’t have to worry about faffing around with MAME as my tendency is to go deep or obsessive about electronics. I wanted to avoid spending more time tinkering than playing and was comforted by 2huwman setting it all up to boot quickly at 15hz and lag free.
Any help to get me up and running again without having to learn a new operating system would be very much appreciated!
