hantarex polo/2 -28 help

Could some one help I have a hantarex polo/2 -28 monitor one does anyone have a full caps list for this board and two when I was using it the other day it was working ok then I come back too it and the monitor was off any ideas on what too check

Could be the LOPT or HOT. If that's the case, you should hear a ticking sound. It's the power supply trying to start up and shutting down again due to overload. If the HOT is shorted, usually a fet on the vertical pcb in the power supply cage is gone as well.

I can not hear any clicking at all from the board would this be still one of them

I have checked the fuse and that's all ok

Could some one tell on the pcb board were b+ tp6 is on the board so I can test it

At edge of long side (the side opposite the signal connector) in the middle. There are 3 metal lines labelled TP6, TP7, TP10.

You can easily check B+ by probing the black loop of wire in the yoke connector. B+ runs through that wire, they use it as a safety feature to stop the chassis running without the yoke connected.

Yes I checked the 240v and all was ok

I have just checked the b+ at the black loop wire and is reading 174v what would be next too look at

According to the flow chart that is too high. It's supposed to be 138 volts.

Flow chart says to replace C114.

Have you actually checked the HOT at T22? Use your diode check on your multimeter. It's best to remove it to get a proper reading.

Have you got a manual or found one online? It should have a parts list in it, telling you the spec of every component on the board.

C114 refers to a 22uf 50v (sometimes 35v but just go for a 50v) cap in the PSU section, but that's on a polo 1 chassis. The flowchart referred to above is for a Polo 1 chassis, although most of it can be applied to a Polo 2. You have to look up a Polo 1 chassis though as the parts on a Polo 2 have different part numbers - c114 on a Polo 1 is c18 on a Polo 2. You can get the caps anywhere, I usually get mine from CPC as I buy quite a few of each value at a time, but you can also get them from eBay and other places.

To be honest I'd be surprised if c18 is causing it, although it's always a good idea to change the 3 electrolytic caps in the PSU section if they haven't already. This fault could also be caused by a duff lopt, you don't always get the ocp clicking with a duff lopt.tb20002017-12-11 11:54:07

That flowchart is for the US version of the Polo 1, which isn't even the same as a EU/UK Polo 1 and the monitor discussed here is a Polo 2.

US Polo 1 B+ is 138V

EU/UK Polo 1 B+ is 145V

Polo 2 B+ is 105V (15KHz) or 171V (25Khz)

174V he's measuring may be correct if it's in 25KHz mode.
