Making progress with the replacement set up but got a bit of a problem now.
My mate has very kindly set up a new hard drive for me with all files on and Rich's groovy mame ready to install. All drivers installed fine and screen set to 15Hz. But when I installed the PC back in the mame cab, the picture rotates rapidly so you can't see anything.
My mate thought it would be just needing the monitor dials tweaking but done this and can't seem to get a proper picture.
What is odd though is the initial blue screen with HP logo when you very first boot up was clear (not now after I've buggered about with the screen dials). I vaguely remember that this screen did used to be duplicated before ie rolling and not right when the mame part was working fine so logical that if the HP screen was fine initially then implies the mame screen would be out so correct to adjust .
The fact that I've made the initial blue screen go out of sync suggests that it can
So my qus are:
Is it likely that the screen dials will fix the problem or does something else needs doing to PC to output at 15Hz?
If it is screen which is the dial I need to focus on to get the picture back properly? (Monitor is a Hantarex 900E, so fairly standard).
Thanks as ever for all the help on here
