layout so far, all the parts are in, some dont render on here like the decoupling caps, but you get the idea :) All sockets are the spring type and the amp is mounted flush to board.

Looks like one of those interactive 3D renders. Did try and spin it around there, lol.

Think I've asked this before, but what design software are you using?

Please register my interest in a fully built pcb ready to go. They look fantastic.
Dead keen to crack a million on one of these beauties.
And maybe an early revision non-worker as a piece of wall art. I LOVE THE PURPLE!
Have also revived my 10 year old wanted thread for a Mr Do! cab.
Cheers.

Nothing special, just lots of hard work and graft! its all manual processes of eagle cad, csv bom and placement files then import to the manufacturer gerber viewer and manual excel export/import parts selection.

Almost there on the parts sections/pre-ordering

Thanks, yes it's gonna be awesome to see some of these boards running in cabs. I am finalising the parts for the assembly of the boards. I had to pre-order some parts which have a bit of a lead time so thats hooding things up right now. the logistics and planning for assembly takes ages.

Ok, today's the day!!! Hehhe my most complex project to date has been realised!

The first 5 assembled board are here and look NICE!!! Last year i said £150 plus shipping for these and add the ics yourself. Costs have gone up alot since then, but i am trying to got stick to it as close as possible for these and there are only 5 to start with. If we get more done after this, then costs might be able to come down, but not sure. 5 was the best mix for the amount of outlay i wanted to do upfront, as we may still find things to make better later, though this rev3 is pretty much mint now

So 3 available at the moment from these 5. 2 spoken for.

£160 plus £6.50 tracked 48 shipping in uk. International shipping ok to, but will be £25 min.

Full access to all custom files like the pals used, combined roms etc and the files for the high score save option (drop phil a donation if using the hss though) You can also buy the programmed ics off me if you want to etc.

Drop me a dm if interested or want more info etc

That's a great price for all that stuff built-up.
I presume whoever assembled it has an automated through-hole soldering setup as that would be horrendously time consuming to hand solder.

An excellent result after all your work.

Just to clarify the point about high score save code. The game code is the same regardless of whether you have the score save option or not, if it detects the serial EEPROM where high scores are saved to it will save them and restore them on power-up. If not then it functions just like a normal Mr Do! board where high scores are reset on power-up.

And about the donation - the high score save code is free and I don't want anything for it, but if you use it please consider a small donation to Crisis or your favourite charity.

Thanks, hoping to keep making these for as long as there is interest and hopefully they should run for 40 + years no issues ha. All socketed to so easy to change a chip in the future. There is also the possibly of custom colour sets built in which i haven't said much about, but hopefully will expand on or other people can try out to.

Yes the assembly process is wave soldering by a machine. I assembled 2 of these myself by hand and that was more than enough !! lol

I've used this process for board assembly for a few years now and also been spot on. This is the largest board done with it to date though. Next run will be 25 maybe if things work out ok.

Forgot to mention also that anyone buying will have access to full high scale schematics for the board. I can also offer an A0 print option if required for purchase! If you like schematic rolls!

Some more progress, I have resolved 1 more sprite issue to do with the positioning and movement of the sprite characters. The bloody universal schematics were wrong again.
Would you mind pointing out where the schematics were wrong on this?
I've got an original board with some positioning issues I'm trying to sort.
