tutankhm uses...
ROM_LOAD( "3j.3h", 0x0c000, 0x1000, CRC(ea03a1ab) SHA1(27a3cca0595bac642caaf9ee2f276814442c8721) ) /* Name guessed */
ROM_LOAD( "j6.6h", 0x0f000, 0x1000, CRC(fe079c5b) SHA1(0757490aaa1cea4f4bbe1230d811a0d917f59e52) ) /* Name guessed */

whereas...
tutankhms uses...
ROM_LOAD( "3a.3h", 0x0c000, 0x1000, CRC(2d62d7b1) SHA1(910718f36735f2614cda0c3a1abdfa995d82dbd2) )
ROM_LOAD( "a6.6h", 0x0f000, 0x1000, CRC(c43b3865) SHA1(3112cf831c5b6318337e591ccb0003aeab722652) )

So the checksums shown are correct for tutankhm. The checksums are CRC-32.

The diagnostic test for RAM (Static and VRAM) is as follows...
Fill with FFs... check for all FFs...
Fill with 55s... check for all 55s...
Fill with AAs... check for all AAs...
Fill with 00s... check for all 00s...
So maybe some errors could sneak through?

So it looks like it is writing to more than one place at once and then these extra writes corrupt the data. i.e. it writes correctly to the correct location but extra writes occur... this suggests Konami Custom 081 and related logic or RAM incorrectly selecting... I'll have to look to see if I could revert it to 4116s... not sure I have enough to eliminate the DRAM Wrangler just in case.

OK my bad with the DRAM Wrangler... a few bodges... will have to tweak the PCB design!

I had a mini-bodge earlier but it obviously wasn't quite enough...

And like magic...

The Stars and Scrolling work fine so I think that proves that after fixing all the rusted off legs we have a working set of customs!

Spent a few hours with a hot soldering iron...

I know there was some interest in 085... I might try that first (even though I don't actually need one currently), I do have a board currently set up that I could test it on...
More suspenders...

Seems to work...

Seems to work. :)

Let me know if you have a broken game that would benefit from one

PS
Konami 085 is the Scroll Chip for Pandora's Palace (GX328), Hyper Sports (GX330), Tutankham (GX350) , Super Basketball (GX405), Road Fighter (GX461), Mikie (GX469) and Kicker (GX477). Obviously I have only tested it in my Tutankham.

Juno First also uses 85, which I pinched from from my Tut so need one to replace it.

All done. I have a complete set of custom replacements for Tutankham now... 081, 082, 083, 084 and 085!

That should come in handy for some projects in the queue.

To summarise... all the customs did work on this board, once their rusted legs were replaced, the problem mostly being mass extinction of 4116s.

Tutankham can go back in the box... moving back to the Juno First bootleg
