Mario Kart looks absolute dogshit
few people give a shit
battery will be shit
turd with a D-pad on it
shittest decision ever
Ouch, my Nintendo bone. It'll never have the appeal that the Switch did eight years ago, but to be fair a slimmer and more powerful Steamdeck is pretty decent for GC scarred Nintendo.

I will argue this though:
You have to pay an extra £70 to get a half decent controller... they have gone for that button thing again, which is the shittest decision ever.
Tetris99 is the best Tetris which makes it quite possibly the greatest game ever. 😃

The piechart of my Switch 1 gameplay history would be all Tetris99 except a pube of everything else.

Dual joycon is easily the best controller for this game and for that reason I love it. I like a dpad as much as anyone but dbutts won me over with Tetris. Perfect controls, perfect game (in my (correct) opinion 😁).

After a night on Mario Kart World, I'm hooked. Brilliant game with some mental tracks. Machine is really nice and a big improvement on previous switch. Magnetic controllers work really well. It is expensive but it's new tech and it's typical Nintendo fun as hell gameplay. Time to try some Zelda which is an included upgrade if you have the pass which was cheap at £26 for 12 months online and expansion pass.

I haven't bought any (£60!) Switch Online GC controllers*, so I've just tested Gamecube Classics with the USB adapter and original controller. Works fine. Analogue L/R just works, which isn't possible with the Joycon.

You miss out on the OS buttons obviously. Home button works fine with a secondary Switch 2 controller but the Suspend menu (for savestates) doesn't - unless there's a better way to set this up, I only tried it briefly.

*So £60 for convenient savestates. Nah.

If desperate you could always press home, change controller order and then go back in-game to savestate.

Looks like most web cams work on Switch 2, I’ve just tried mine what I use for my Teknoparrot gaming and it works great.

I didn't order one but can't pretend i'm not jelly of 'ZELDER AT 1440p / 60FPS!'

The only issue I had was the screen, felt like it should have been an OLED for that price. However it does look like a nice machine, plenty of decent games lined up for it as well.

Yeah, it should have been OLED for the price, but the screen still seems really good to me, despite some moaning about it. Mostly play on an OLED telly anyway, although I will be playing handheld more, due to the bigger screen size.

Probably going to get Fast Fusion today. Looks really good and is only about 13 quid, I think.

MKW is growing on me, the more I play it. Lost a couple of hours on it last night, just exploring and messing around in Free Roam. The little silly Nintendo touches that make you laugh out loud are a joy for someone like me that doesn't seem to laugh that much, these days. Ha!

Having put a few hours into Mario Kart World and the upgraded Zeldas, I'm really happy with this. Makes me want to go back and play all those Switch 1 games I got and never really played. Love the bigger screen in handheld, and it looks great on my LG OLED docked. Be nice if it was cheaper, but given how expensive going out for a meal is these days, I think it's good value for money. You've got to give MKW time, and play it online. Lots of nice little touches and things to find. Rolling starts are cool and some of the tracks are nuts (Rainbow Road).

How's the compatibility like for switch games?
Nintendo announced it was 98.8% for back compat at the moment
games with unlocked fps get a free boost too, Bayonetta 3 now runs at a smooth 60FPS rather than the 25 - 32 it ran at on S1

I queued up at midnight to get mine, and the first game I played on it was Ridge Racer :)
Really couldn't give two hoots about the screen, it will be 99% used docked. wish they made a version that was just for TV use and sold it cheaper

Still not feeling it.
I'll revisit in a year or so.
Thinking about it, I've only bought Nintendo consoles this millennium, and it was always a good while after the launch
