Just booked a room at the Mercurie Hotel .. about £74 right now

The yellow line is from the Hotel to the Arcade, walking distance so best thing to do is leave car in hotel car park (hopefully) and wonder over.

Parking is £10 a night

Absolutely gutted but I'll have to miss this one, logistically too difficult with Funk Jnr at the moment. We did a run to High Wycombe last weekend to meet Brian Henson with him and it was epic for more reasons than one as you'd imagine :ROFLMAO:

Have a cracking time guys, I may be popping to crash over the weekend so lmk if any of the northern vaccer folk are heading there.

It’s around an hour drive for me, so will be driving there and back on the day.
I’m hoping to get there just after midday.

OK, I have sent money, and booked a room locally. (y)

If I can fix my motor up in advance I might even have a couple of days up the road by the beach, too.

FYI ... The Mercure Hotel has gone up to £90 on hotels .com (plus parking) ... but ... maybe I'm not being discerning enough, there. That being said, the parking sitch is a bit tight and potentially 'taken' there ... so ... I have opted for The Bower Inn.

There is a local premier inn 8mins away but I’ve been recommended the “Mercure Hotel Bridgewater” which is 3mins walk away for those like me who want to stay over. There is free parking at the venue after 6pm and you can bring your own beer after 8pm.
It's a wee schlep away, but ... it'll be a nice Butcombe pub to wake up in on Sunday. :)

oh dear.... thats 40 mins away by foot.. not many hotels closer that don't require a taxi .

the rest of them are along the main road into Bridgwater which are on estates that require car to travel in.

The parking at hotel is kinda night parking so i am not sure how that will work, parking at timewarp will need to be at the car park just over the river with a fee. The supermarket one is limited to 2 hours.

It's perfect for me, I don't have any issues with it. 😅 🤷‍♂️

I spent a good day figuring it all out, there were plenty of closer options, for a similar/less cost, and at least 3 15m walk away ... but I didn't like the idea of being hemmed in by the town.
I'm sure others will be fine, too. Whatever their choices. :)

That being said, I'm sure everyone's thankful for as much additional local knowledge that yourself / a. n. eeothers can provide. :)
Incidentally, I know you probably hear this all the time, but I've had half a foot in Croyde/Saunton/Braunton/Barnstaple half my life, mate.

I mention this, because it'd be fun to mull over some ideas stuck in my head about starting something arcade adjacent down that way since everywhere that was has gone mostly coin machines etc.

If you ever want to chat ... I have ideas, savings, and no will to pass anything on to anyone when I pass away ... so ... y'know ... happy to think about something down that way to replace lost destinations (like Ruda*, and more) that I saw the evolution, and eventual disappearance, of these wonderful machines.

* ... which it should be stated ... has - very - modern machines, now ... and in a much more different location

I must be thick. What PayPal address are people buying tickets with? Can't even see it on the website. 🤷‍♂️
