At last ones finished.
A pair of OutRun full size uprights from the US.
At RPG on arrival in the UK.

Arrival day at the workshop.

Base repair and new levellers.

Inside. Plenty of mouse poop. But strangely no wires chewed.

Very solid cab.

Repaired sides.

Ready for side art.

Side art on.

Next the front panel.

New front decals.

New bright LED marquee light.

Power board finished.

Gear shifter in bits.

Finished.

Looks like one of the large billboards whizzing by. They have the image of the Outrun DLX cabinet on them. Sega must have known they were onto a winner.

looks great. is the 2nd one in a worser state before the renovation?

My 2nd One is the more original one because if you are taking off the Art back bare cab,

you might as well do it to the bad one.

To be honest the rest of it needs not much really.

I put the Metal Gears in the Restored one to bullet proof the steering,

but this one only had a few standard cracks that have not lost any teeth.

I have had that one out and cleaned it up but its pretty OK overall.

I had a Company we deal with do it with some car stuff.

About £40 I would say it worked out.

if you dont mind me asking, what black paint did you use for the wood panel underneath the steering wheel section.

looks like a Matt Black?

Also is it possible to get hold of one of those oval Outrun stickers that is stuck over the front racing stripe looks great?

The Black underneath the Steering Panel is Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain (Satin Black Ebony)

It goes on really patchy but a few light coats with drying in between it comes out lovely.
