That video is class. He summed up exactly how I feel.
Clapping and banging pots and pans in the streets won't help people pay their rising bills. Whilst Matt Hancock gave his local Landlord lucrative PPE contract via text messages and Baroness Michelle Mone made a fortune essentially drop shipping useless PPE. The same people who want a National security bill to stop public interest journalism concerning government officials and make them exempt from a whole host of other stuff. The same people who are passing laws to stop protesting. The same people who won't negotiate with Unions because they say it will cost peoples jobs and make inflation spiral even more out of control.
The guilt trip media mentality of saying 'X' people are suffering because of you lot who are striking! Yesterday I watched a health worker being asked by a BBC journalist, don't you feel guilty that people are going to suffer with you going on strike? Being an NHS hospital worker or being on the front line is not a bed of roses, a lot of people are on not much more than minimum wage! You really can't make this sh*t up man.
I did an online training course for security awareness earlier in the year and strikes were considered to be as harmful to the company as terrorist attacks and cyber attacks. What does the government really think about the people who have been pushed to their limits where the last option to get their point across is to strike, the people who are subject to the grinding/delay tactics, are they considered terrorists wanting a fair wage? I'm waiting for that comparison to be made to be honest, that the strikers are comparable to terrorists, then I know the media/government are reading from the same handbook as the company I work for.
I don't think people are going to suddenly start using Evri/Hermes/Yodel etc over the convenience of using the Post Office, most people will continue to use Royal Mail as it's convenient to just drop something off at the Post Office without having to go online, print out forms and then drop it off somewhere just to save a bit of money. Royal Mail offer big discounts to companies that post in bulk.
I ordered some bits from Arcade World on the 6th Dec and they arrived via Royal Mail on the 12th Dec. According to the postie, they are alternating between parcels and letters to try and keep on top of things.
