I do believe that only the very best examples will hold value long term since they appeal to the wider collector, you can see this in other sectors from classic cars to comics.

Sure its a lot of money right now but I don't believe the new owner would ever make a loss - especially with the star wars connection.

My interest is in playing the games and I'm happy to get my hands on used machines with 'character'

Know of cab that still had one in when the new owner bought it. Not sure if it got replaced during restoration or not. Chances are it was I would have thought. Even though it was working.

I would love to have a working red original HVT. Not so much to run it but more for some testing I would like to do (non destructive). So if anyone ever replaces one preventively.....
