From memory (30-odd maybe 40 years ago!) I think it was pretty terminal. It mainly snapped in two but it also sort of exploded on impact and anything remotely decorative like the spotlights and wing mirrors all pinged off.

And, while I didn't appreciate it at the time, this original sounds great when you compare it to what it's like now (that applies to the entire show and the abysmal CGI actually)
Edit: going to give a honorable mention to Pole Position, Ulysees 31, but I think this was the catchiest of those cartoons:
Not having The Racoons though, probably as I really didn't like the cartoon.

That Incredible Hulk piano end tune is my childhood. So simple and powerful. Its melancholy and awesome. I miss the late 70s. I had the pleasure of meeting Lou Ferrigno/The Hulk at a bodybuilding seminar in a small hall in Camden 1994. Surprisingly Dave Prowse/Darth Vader was sitting just infront of me. Got to shake hands and get autographs from two legends of my childhood. Pucker

This tune makes me think of late nights. Me and my older brother used to watch it and laugh at the mad characters Lizzy etc and their sayings. Also the thin wooden set walls shaking when the the cell doors slammed!! Hahaha

I'd always assumed (out of laziness) that the Big Break theme was Chas n' Dave.
Only to recently find out it was Captain Sensible and part of some elaborate Mike Batt musical thingy full of famous people.
Not saying it's a great TV theme though (or a good Captain Sensible record)
