I wonder if the ram had bits that would take the correct value but then would change after a few milliseconds.
During the testing it could be that the bits held their value long enough to pass the test but then would revert thus showing anomalies when the screen was rendered.

like if the microscopic
capacitor assigned to the DB6 address space leaks its charge too quickly between refresh cycles due to decay ( drying of the dielectric fluids ) A logic "1" decays into a logic "0" before the video hardware can read it,
Good data going in - bad data coming out..

Why snip pin 14?
Did you try piggy backing before snipping ?

Do incorrect bits collide with correct bits ?

Just I imagine if a voltage is present on that side of the capacitor on the db6 of the 4116 ram and a 1 flows along the output would that not superseed the 0 ?

Or is no voltage a bit Default
In this case telling green gun to fire ..

Not snipping what
Would be the result on screen or anything els ?

A little bit of flashing and then four reds (photo isn't great but they are as red as a red thing)...

Nice tester... Says 1 bit DRAM Tester (Rev 7) (c)2024 by Simon Raybould on the back. Cracking design IMHO using STM32G030F6

I have no connection to him or his product except to have bought one and recommend it... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115545495551
