I’ll. try to connect monkey ball analogue pcb from arcade art shop ( olly )
Tonight and report back.

Yeh them guys on arcade museum couldn’t seem to sort it out!
I’m still waiting he did send the 3d print file to me though.

I was just with an original monkey ball
Today funnily enough .. got me wanting to get my monkey on!

This was my friend when it came to connecting up the pcb

And this

Still not totally convinced I have it wired
Correctly yet ..
But it does work better with the pcb

Just playing again without
Pcb to get a feel of difference.

Got an issue at moment
Can’t seem to get both x & y working

Might need another analouge stick

Amp is a doubler
It’s double velocity

Will do a vid once I have it working correctly …
Stick Is fine without amp..
But I’m having some issues with amp using wago’s for connections maybe to big a contact trying directly wiring

I might have my grounds and analogue
But if you recalibrate what's the difference?

Never mind, I asked that before your second paragraph was added.
yeh without amp board analogue stick is just slow ..
Even with the added velocity on in game options .
The amp board does work im only testing with the sega standerd analogue stick .. not dedicated monkey ball and gundam sticks which I think have diffrent pots

I'd be curious how that stick fares in the later levels. I'll have both sticks but Gundam stick seems like the obvious choice. From what I've read the Sega analog sticks are usable but struggle heavy on the more accurate stages.

I couldn’t get the repro pcb
To work correctly.

Tested my analogue stick without pcb
Works fine with monkey ball but not quick/ velocity enough.

With the repro sega analogue pcb
I was always missing correct forwards and back wards ( push & pull in the joystick adjustment ) in game options.

And then left was stuttering ..
I had to admit defeat at 1:30 last night!

Will try again tonight but I’m fearing my analog pcb pot amp is faulty ..
🤨

Does your stick reach the full range when calibrating? If so then I don't understand how quick you want it to be.

The output values of the official banana stick are different. In your link to NG.com Codecrank said his didn't work at all without an amplifier. If yours is working without then maybe that's just how it is - you use the range for a gradually increasing lean, and the full extent for a full tilt.

Nah ..
I have monkey ball on all platforms
Game cube
Ps2
Ninty DS. Touch & roll
Dreamcast
The difference between slow & correct speed is apparent

Sure this isn't the difference between an analogue stick with a long throw and a joypad with a tiny throw?

Does your arcade stick reach the full range?

Please check the pots in your current stick. MB are 5k, Gundam are 1k (I think). Also the travel is different on the MB and Gundam stick, so shorter travel with calibrated full range could impact ‘speed’ I guess…

So to summarise you need to change the pot on the Gundam or the resistors on the amp and also use the amp to get the exact movement of an original. Also the restrictor gate as well. Got it.

Well the cost of the original resistor is dumb

unless the pot isnt linear in which case you need a logarithmic 5k
