@Chopper79

You can rebuild these brittle rubberrings from the speakers, I have done this with my old subwoofer. Replacement ( including glue ) was about 25€

@PAcman

The G07 is a nice monitor and you still get near everything for replacement ( i ordered these deluxe rebuild kits for mine )

I used to restore the foam rings on the small B&O
All metal case Book shelf speakers.

Had a funny day at work Friday,
Visiting a new client and she had two naomis in the garage minus monitors
And final furlong minus the horses..
Which she kindly gave me.
So now I have some
More projects... the monitors are in a van at her mother in-laws ( that she doesn’t speak too at all! )
Só Might not be able to get them ever

Now that we have a bit of sun. I'm starting to clear a section of the garden for a new shed.

This should allow me clear out the large shed, to start turning it into an entertainment/gaming space.

I am mid restore on this, trying to get painted and side art on
before things turn chilly, I think Spongebob Square Pants played it
judging by the water damage and swelling!

Will do a full restore thread when its done.

I picked up neoretro's very generous Naomi driver cab shell giveaway earlier on this year and I've been slowly converting it into a universal Sega Model 1/2/3 machine. I've converted a Virtua Fighter cab into a universal joystick based machine before for Model 1/2/3 stick based games but this will give me something to play my driving games in.

It's going to be themed around Virtua Racing. I'll make a short pedal section eventually but for now they're screwed to some spare plywood but I was happy to just get it all together and working.

So far it's involved: -

- Making the VR board set fit into a small enough foot print

- Modify the dash to fit an original VR wheel / mech / flappy paddle shifter

- Fit an MS9 expertly fixed by Grant

- A complete new wiring loom with original Naomi PSU and amp

- Dash modified to fit a Daytona button panel on a custom front plate. The plate will be CNC cut eventually but this one is 3D printed

The good: -

- I can play Virtua Racing!

- All connections are accessible just inside the front of the machine so I can wire in other game boards to play other games. I plan to sit the other game board on the base section's flat shelf at the rear of the machine and create an extension loom to wire it up.

The bad: -

- No sound yet for VR as I've not got he right eporms on the Model 1 sound board

- No force feed back. There's no room in the dash

Work of art or Frankenstein's Monster? The way I see it, My Sega Model driving games can now be played rather than gathering dust till I one day, (maybe never), find a cab to put them in.

Also, a Naomi comes apart so this cab is upstairs in my study rather than in my very full games room. The first machine I've managed to get in the house! And it was my wife's idea!

Thought someone might get a laugh out of this monstrosity. Partner was worried we didn't have space for a cab, so I made this 1:1 cardboard mockup for demonstration purposes. Although the base on this is narrower than a real vewlix.

Striped kieser right out.
I’m going to pop a crt in .

Lcd it came with makes a good bench monitor..

Ghost squad fully working
After sorting broken cables
needs cosmetic work.
And some wheels on the stand.

Control panel was totally unusable for stick & buttons

So had to just cut it all away.
Using clear Perspex for the panel 5mm
With a 1 mm top layer like the candy marquees so I can pop some ARTs underneath.

Got piano hinge mounted on stainless steel L shape

Will do same on Controll panel under. With Tiny m3 bolts slotted probably.

I can get 2player 2 button. Config on the panel but would love to squeeze
2 player 4 button for neo geo.

Also going to hinge the monitor bezel so I can tate monitor that’s the plan.
