I've been working on getting an original Bubble Bobble board running both Bubble Bobble and Lost Cave (selectable with a switch). It's given me way more headaches than it should have done and what I thought would take a couple of hours has taken about 15! The process is a bit more complicated on an original than it is on a bootleg as you have to split one of the 64KB ROMs into 32KB chunks and then there's the part where you think you've done everything right but nothing works and you can't figure out why.

Hey all, I am currently still balls deep into restoring the worst ever paperboy aka the rat toilet :p
It's not that far away now, I have filmed quite a lot since the dark day it arrived at my house ... will get a few vids together soon
I will be ready to take a pounding for my choice of powder coating, being a pinball guy I do like to Powdercoat everything and realise this isn't such a thing with vids as a few folks on here that I have shown privately have informed me lol

Didn’t want to take any false readings
So I wired 2 meters up to be safe 👍
Today I did this …
Checked the b+ It was very low at 62v
To start with so gently removed the factory white glue ..
And dialled it up eventually I took it to
76v on the 15khz as described on a faq over at arcade controls.com.

Then fitted net city CP
Tuned the pic in a bit more ..
Left it running for a couple hours.
Pretty happy with results so far IMG_0087.jpeg

Next was this annoying bit of degaussing needed for discolouration in the bottom corner…

Quick inspection and I could see the AC wires where to close to the screen in this corner ..

Relocated the wires far away as poss.

Then I found the degausse wires and put an amp up 2 port on and connected to the degausse button and drum roll

I put some carpet tiles in my shed a few weeks back & it has really made all the difference it feels like spare room now just need a few more cabs & it could be called games room.

I used Milliken acoustic foam as it already has underlay so nice & thick.
