What cool projects have you got underway?

Thanks for the complement!

While the game play on the Asteroid is very simplistic, the cabinet design is awesome. On the lower front of the cabinet there are "molded" stars instead of just paint. I really hope I can get it looking good without doing too much work. On these I think it would be better to leave it more original than to make it look "new".

I've a few things in progress or just finished:

New Net City configuration:

---------------------------------

I've recently got my NNC cab working with my PS2, PS1, PC Engine and NEO Geo set-up. I'm using Shane's JAMMA adapters to connect the systems up and the adapters are awesome.

I've hooked up my PS2 solely for Gradius V, my PS1 solely for Gradius Gaiden, my PC Engine for all the shoot'em ups but Winds of Thunder in particular (and Dracula X: Rondo of Blood) and my Neo set up for Blazing Stars and Metal Slug.

For some reason my NNC will not play thje sound out of JAMMA boards which is really frustrating me. I have tried a Line Converter but that made no difference. It's strange that all my JAMMA adapters work but native JAMMA boards won't. I will struggle on!

Fixed Space Ace:

--------------------

My Space Ace died a death and sat doing nothing for a good few months. I eventually sussed out it was the Z80DART chip. Plugged in a new one and it fired up straight away. Took me ages to work it out though!

Fixing Salamander:

-----------------------

I've have a Salamander board that was broke when I bought it many, many moons ago. i got round to having it fixed this month. it worked perfectly hooked up to my supergun but when I hooked it up to my cab there is no sound. Also, it made a "pop" noise and the graphics all screwed up. Strangely, moving the jumper from the stereo to mono pins on the Salamander board sorted out the vast majority of the graphics issues but did nothing for the sound. I will struggle on some more!

Also, not really a project, but I found out that Daytona USA was released on PS3 and was the best of conversions (running at 60fps) so I got it and have set my PS3 up just for that game :). It is very close to the original in terms of game-play and graphics. Let's Go Away!

Cheers

thought I'd make another test rig for my 2nd workshop

I am using a control panel which I acquired a few years ago, the box I made from some plywood which came from the bases of a megatouch monitor (the best thing about megatouch's is these pieces of ply, everything else on them is crap)

so I've cut the wood on a circular saw and screwed them together, don't forget this is only a workshop test rig so it doesn't need to look pretty

on the right hand side you'll see an Electrocoin power supply and loom which came from a joblot of parts I bought,

so tonight is just to dismantle the psu and cut down the excess wires off the loom to fit it all in

sorry its nothing interesting like a Asteroids caberat but hey ho

I am in the process of building a Bartop dedicated to a Big Red.
Ive been slowly gathering the parts the last few months (cash flow probs ya know!) but work actually started the weekend.
It will be a multicade run via a Pi but I will post some pics up once there is something worthwhile posting about lol

I don't know if its cool, but this scratch built Pac-Man Cabaret project has definitely been underway for a while now. Will it be finished this year? If I weren't so lazy it would be

Have managed to get vanilla mame running pretty fast on the Pi, and the outputs working on the GPIO pins. Here it's picking up the marquee outputs on an emulated MVS 4-slot. Not sure what to do with it. Was interesting using Python for 1st time.

I've just overhauled this hydraulic engine hoist. Replaced all seals, disassembled and lubricated the whole thing, primed and re-sprayed it. This old boy was my old mans and is my age (44) and will be instrumental in helping me on my next couple of resto's. I love it!

Lovin' your work! I have a pi project in bits and a few images I'm playing with. It'll eventually go in a jamma cab

I'm working on two Midway offroad challenge sitdowns.

Playing driving games in a sitdown is another world, a class of its own, love it. I was tired to play them with keyboard or joystick.

One with non working monitor will be a mame project with 27" TFT and a Lenovo Thinkcentre tiny mini PC. I have an A-pac for that and hope I get the wheel and pedals working. Perhaps I can mount a Logitech PC wheel with "pedal" buttons to shift.

Add some relays to the outputs so you can drive more amps and use it to drive simulated EL panels....

my vectrex was bought without controllers. had a go with a real one and didn't much like it, so converted a cab CP to play it. This was a bit big and cumbersome so decided to build a smaller one;

just waiting for the buttons to arrive (24 mm sanwa), only had one to hand

HeyGuys!

Just would like to say that I have started my Gauntlet arcade scratch build Cabinet.

For now, it will be a PC build using a CRT tv no LCD in this build.

Let me know what you think.

Here are a few pictures
