Só it’s all done and working ..
Tested on groovymame

Naomi taito spinner & snk rotary pannel .. still got some cable management to take care of but it’s now hot swappable 3x usb cables only.

Will use a better usb to stick /buttons eventually ;)

It’s better than I thought it would be ! A bit of a dream come true for me , as I do remeber playing this on a cocktail cab in Cornwall on a holiday years back with my brother ,,, I honestly looked at it as said to my self one day I will get one of them .. you know I was like a lot of us
Just in awe of it!
I was only about 7 years old 🤣..
It didn’t disappoint,
Had a mad blast all day yesterday and today also . Heavy barrel ! ;). Too!
Omg every bit as good as I remeber even better! 🤣
And this monitor is just soo
Crisp it is doing the game justice ! IMG_3155.jpeg
Here are my mame analogue
Sensitivity & digital speed settings for the ls-30 that work well for me.

Ikari warriors

Sens digital speed
113 / 0

Guerrilla war

102 / 0

Heavy barrel

110 / 0

What I have noticed is ,

If you do not do a full 360• rotation of the ls-30 it will perform a little off, ( miss the first click in opposite direction )

But as soon as you do a full 360• rotation it is spot on! For rest of the time ..
Maybe I haven’t got my digital speed and sensitivity quite right , or It’s just the way the encoder understands the how many inputs of rotation are required for a full 360. I don’t know ..

It was a quiet sunday afternoon, so I had some free time and decided to check over an Atari AR board, I ended up replacing the voltage pot, installed a new 2N3055, two new 1000uf caps as these were the only caps on the board that were out of specification when they were all checked on the ESR meter.

I'm currently waiting on a new part for my custom cab which will enable lightgun functionality, so I'm quite excited about that. I also just acquired a Fanatec FFB wheel, which works like a charm with Sega Rally 2 and Scud race. The reason I went with Fanatec specifically is that it can store different profiles, but I also created a script for a spring effect to use with games like Outrun, and it has a free-wheel mode for the Supersprint type games. It's not quite the same as a free spinning wheel, but it's closer than the Hori RWA wheel I was experimenting with. The next step is to find a 4 way Daytona/Sega Rally shifter, wire that up to talk to the wheelbase, and then create a panel for my cabinet.

This was prompted by an earlier conversation by a VACcer who doesn't have a huge amount of time to dedicate to the hobby; what interesting projects do you have underway that are cool but might be many months from fruition?

Aside from my work on taking Fire Shark to bits, I've got a disassembly of the greatest motion game of all time underway. First goal is to understand the POST. Second goal is to use this to troubleshoot the hardware. Stretch goal is to convert some other games to the platform.

What have you got going on?
Well... I have a fairly unmolested BAS cabinet... minus monitor.. it needs a 20" 4:3 one though and I just can't find anything at a sensible price. I bought a 19" 4:3 and it just looks tooooo small.

Finished a bookie cab so want the two in my bar room

Well, nothing exciting but it is something and the first time I've done anything Arcade related in over two years.

I was rained off on Friday and didn't fancy doing nothing so I started wandering around the House for something to do .

I went into the spare room and saw the GO7 Monitor for Missile Command that I rebuilt in September 2021. I hadn't yet fitted the Chassis.

' I'll stick that in the Cab ' I said out loud although I didn't really fancy it.

It's amazing how much you forget. I was staring at the chassis not really knowing what I was doing to be perfectly honest. There were wires all over the place and I couldn't remember where they went initially. Luckily, the monitor inside MC was the rebuilt G07 from Centipede which I stuck in there until I'd finished the MC monitor. So, used it as a pattern.

Anyhow, I got it sorted out eventually and played a few games......which was thoroughly enjoyable surprisingly! After playing for roughly an hour I walked out of the games room feeling super chilled and totally nostalgic. Happy Days! (y)

👍 ffb working 😆IMG_5912.jpeg
I have a few stacks, swpped in a known good .
I only want to know my motor servo is working ..
This is the point
replace the stack and drive board , with the uffb aganyte & pc.

So mission one complete 😉
Nice to have a go on f355 after 4/5 years since I sold my delux. I’m thinking of adding vmu for ghost mode for f355.

I’m hoping that seven seg motor pcb is ok
As it did not have a jumper at switch 1 here
IMG_5919.jpeg
First two pins bent looks as though it’s been knocked off….
Will test it with a jumper on tomo
