Hi Everyone, how's it going?
I'm new to the forum and jamma cabinets in general, even though it seems I spent most of my youth around them

I have an old woody that I'm currently trying to whip into shape. When the guts are up and running, I plan to Donkey Kong the hell out of the exterior. Love that blue!
So far I've got a 60 in 1 running on an external LCD monitor but I'm hoping the Hanatrex can be brought back to life.
I think I'm gonna replace pretty much everything from buttons down to coin doors/mech so I'm probably in it for the long haul - which is what I wanted. Having a ball on it at the moment!
Looking forward to chatting to you all!
Alan

Nice nickname - Black Tiger / Forgotten Worlds reference? Can't remember any other Capcom games that use zenny coins

Continuing working on a Konami-1 replacement now I have enough different boards to test it in. I expect Gyruss to be the killer as looking at the schematics it seems to make greater use of the 'special' bits.

the coin reference reminded me of Treasure Island Dizzy where you had to find all the hidden coins, they did some great Dizzy games bitd

Cheers Andy, I have got a booty Circus Charlie to use as a starting point but it would be good to see another implementation as looking at the schematics not all of the Konami-1 boards used all of the pins.

I'll PM you.

Long time lurker not quite first time poster but thought I should get more involved here :)

Projects currently on the go.

1. Restoring a DDR machine I acquired for free. Surprisingly little wrong with it considering it had taken a beating in a local youth club. It just needs a good clean up, it is amazing what you find in a dance floor.

The worst part about it is the real time clock battery has gone which I understand is a bit of a pain to change as it is built into a chip which is soldered to the board and a replacement chip might also need reprogramming to work. I might need to find someone with better soldering skills than myself to do this.

I will be doing some mods on the dance floor once it is back together. Probably just countersinking nice new screws, lifting the panels slightly so they are all level and maybe adding LED lights.

I have sanded all of the paint and rust off the sides and it has come up really nice as you can see. It seems a shame to have to paint it now as I like it with just the metal but I guess it will rust without primer and paint.

2. Continue to build my Hyperspin based arcade machine http://www.retro.me.uk

3. Tweak my Judge Dredd pinball machine and fix the 2 lines that are out on the DMD. Then get it ready to install a crane mod and the Dead World ball lock mod after Santa delivers them :)

4. Look into selling my 1968 VW Beetle to make space in my garage for more arcade and pinball machines as I really want a F355 Deluxe and Sega Rally Twin but have no space. I will also need to insulate and soundproof it probably.

hehe, thanks! I needed to move games around to get the cabs headed for England together in the front line of my storage, and ended up making the Universal and Stern group shots.
