I've removed the original post as it's so far off topic (totally my fault). Could someone move this from for sale to the reliant forum area. Thanks

👍

Liquid cooled? I've been looking at getting a new PC sometime, but the thought of liquid cooling terrifies me. Haha

I don't actually know. It's a pc specialist pre built bought from Very, mainly because they were offering 20% cash back which brought it down to a pretty good price, but they are a bit patchy on giving out the full detail. Most PC's seem to come with some kind of integrated liquid cooling but guess I'll find out when I open the box! I have built a few in the past but really couldn't be doing with the ball ache this time round

Yeah, I've got no enthusiasm for building my own anymore. I'm way behind in knowledge about the latest tech, anyway.

Yeah, me too. Last pc purchase was a rtx 2070 mini pc from Zotac about 5 years ago which to be honest has been pretty flawless and will still run most stuff really well at 1080p. Last build was probably close to 20 years ago and I really couldn't be arsed trying to chose the various components, plus with the high markup on the RTX 5090 at most places, the rest of the pc is a pretty good deal.

sounds like a beast that, got a 9800X3D, 6600 MHZ 32gb of RAM(your computer cant actually use more unless you are doing graphical or processing work with AI and the like), 7900XTX Hellhound and a 32 inch 4k QOLED monitor earlier this year. Barely breaks a sweat playing any game

liquid cooling is a bit of a fad and doesnt work as well as something like this

Yeah, but no, you will get higher and longer loads with liquid cooling, an air cooler is never going to match, and I say this having owned Noctua products, AIO are better, the only downside can be the life of the product, custom loop and you are into far low temps than an air cooler can ever imagine.

This also adds benefit elsewhere keeping the temps inside the case lower aiding other parts.

Several games can eat up system ram, and AI is waaay more likely with LLMs to be using GPU ram, I can also point to several games that will cripple that PC, but that's another story of UE5 and poor optimisation, oh and RT will cripple the GPU somewhat too!

Also, odds are you have 2:1 timings with that ram that will impact the system too.

my RAM timings are showing correctly, 3300MHz

but yeah, i dont tend to play poorly optimized games then i guess, if a game struggles on my PC, then it doesnt deserve to be played IMO

That's your ram speed, not timings, and that speed would place you out of the 1:1 sweet spot for AMD

And you do play those games given how used UE4/5 is.

The memory controller isn't doing 3300MHz, what you would need for 6600MT/s ram
It's doing 3300/2= 1650MHz for the 6600MT/s
You'll need to go above 8000MT/s on the ram to make up for it
or down clock to get it back to 1:1

UE3
Monogame
Unity
Godot
Love

i think the only game i have installed that uses UE5 is Robocop, and i have barely played, but that was fine when i did, anyway, this is a thread about someone trying to sell a rog ally x at a very nice price

Decent builds but over priced from pc specialists, same as overclockers , aria. You could easily save your self a grand buying parts and building it yourself, and PC specialists moniker your damn case.

Aria went business only some years back, Scan is the best atm, OC aren't really price competitive & CCL got a bit greedy sadly. Also, bloody AI has sent memory prices high and will be doing the same to storage too.

Had to use hdmi as Samsung only provide a 1.2 meter 2.1 dp cable and with the connection on the left it doesn't even make the edge of the screen. Hopefully the one I've ordered can manage 240 at 4k x 2. I'll mess about with cabling tomorrow when that arrives.
